Saved, saved, saved.... I hear this all the the time. But what does it actually means? For the most part I think people mean that they become Jesus Christ followers... and they get 'saved'. Could it have different meaning? Let's find out, shall we?
Good question Canell...... I am glad that you allowed me to make three choices....... I believe that it is possible to be filled with the Holy Spirit to such an extent that it is like we are thinking and living above our specific set of circumstances on this earth..... ? 'To be saved' means: To be saved physically in this world 0 vote(s) 0.0% To be taken physically in Heaven 0 vote(s) 0.0% * To become a Christian / to be baptised 1 vote(s) 25.0% To be saved from Samsara and never incarnate again in this world 1 vote(s) 25.0% * To be out of this world spiritually while still in the world physically 2 vote(s) 50.0% * To serve God 1 vote(s) 25.0% To save money and property 0 vote(s) 0.0% I don't know 0 vote(s) 0.0% I don't care 2 vote(s) 50.0% Other 0 vote(s) 0.0% ...... I do firmly believe that Rabbi Yeshua - Jesus truly fulfilled the role of "Messiah - Moshiach the Passover Lamb"..... and I do believe that He can now appear to his disciples.....and future disciples....... and bring them up even out of hell........ much as Rabbi Nachman of Breslov is rumoured to also be able to do for his students... and disciples....... .... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nachman_of_Breslov I am of the belief that this promise applies to any student that Rabbi Yeshua recognizes as His student... whether this student is Gentile or Jewish........ or even an Atheist..........??? John 14 12 Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. 13 And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it. I believe that Rabbi Nachman of Breslov knew the true Rabbi Yeshua - Jesus better than ninety nine percent of Christian Theologians ever possibly could....... http://www.politicalforum.com/index...l-prize-in-literature.542590/#post-1069675155
you hear this in reference to Christianity and saved from eternal death that's what it means there's a whole book about it. Oh yeah I could have different room you could save someone's life from getting bit by an alligator or drowning or from a fire that's what it is to be saved. In different contexts it means different things just like most of the language.
Eternal death doesn't bother me one bit. Eternal hell on the other hand - yes. But they already know that, don't they? Why yes, Bruce Willis has saved the world at least 10 times in those Hollywood movies. As if it is a good thing. Yes, that's about right. When Christians say it, it usually means that they have managed to drag you in their team.
Saved = Person turning from his sin and trusts in Jesus to be forgiven of his sin. Saved from spiritual death, and the consequences of it.
