How do you explain the turmoil in the Middle East, where Americans have been killed by terrorists? How do you justify these murders to yourself, and apologize to the terrorists? Please, tell me your reasoning on this.
By not falling for hyperbole? No one apologized to terrorists, they apologized to Muslims who were deeply offended by the continuing antics of highly prejudiced Westerners who slame the Middle East all the time. We apologized to government who are trying to make the socities work, and could probably use some help in keeping the extremist elements who routinely seize on these things seeking local political power at bay. Just remember, there are over a billion Muslims out there, and most of them have openly and overtly condemned the violence. Why do you think small bands of extremists represent all Muslims? Why are many of the protests against the video peaceful and ignored by you?
Don't be so naive, Neutral! How dare I allow the Muslims of Yemen, Syria, Lybia, Lebanon, Palestine, Indonesia, etc speak for the whole Islamic world?! Should I go on? There are riots and uprisings everywhere. Do you deny that Muslims are obligated by their faith to respond to a depiction of their prophet, with violence and death?!?!?!?!??! Are you SERIOUS?!
Pardon my ignorance, I am slightly embarrassed to admit I don't know what apology you're talking about. Who apologised over this?
Atheist liberals who keep claiming Islam is not to blame, and "these Muslims don't reflect the world population of Islam". Atheists should be defending the life and loss of this American Ambassador, but instead, find a way to blame America first, and last.
Prior to the attacks on the consulate, the administration expressed their disappointment in the video and denounced it. People are trying to spin this as apologizing after the fact as a sign of weakness in the face of violence. It is a false accusation, but devoutly held.
Thank God people don't judge Christianity by the vitriol you post on these threads. Well, perhaps some people do. More is the pity.
Oh, OK, so you're not talking about the non-apology that was issued by someone other than Obama before the actual killings, you're just making a general point. Well, you're right, we should be condemning the killings. So here you go: I totally condemn these killings without reservation.
I think that the notable thing is that so far all of the violence has been directed against government facilities and personnel. I haven't seen anything about common Americans and Europeans being attacked and there are countless such people in those areas. I think that's remarkable. The average American and European mob tends to attack anyone they can get their hands on.
How can Islame be to blame? It's a religion, religions can't kill people. People, however, can kill people. Why, who should I blame for this except for the people who did this? Should I blame the guy who makes the kebab I eat when I'm lazy?
