This is Herman Cain's time to shine...

    Will he?

I see it as a turning point where he either eclipses Romney and heads for the nomination or he fades like those that preceded him as the Anti-Romney....Bachmann, Perry, et al

I agree. This is the point where he shows that he's either serious, or just selling books.

I'll be watching very closely tonight.

I'd say it all hinges on 9-9-9. If Cain is able to keep it as a vague notion and catch phrase, he will win the debate.........If he's forced to explain the somewhat obvious implications of his tax plan, I think he loses.

I agree with this. His 9-9-9 plan will be his downfall, if he gets the nom, Obama will attack this relentlessly and people are not going to like to hear that they have to pay more tax on food and gas, no matter what other benefits it does. I'm not too sold it on myself actually, hoping for Romney to finally step ahead with this one.

I hate to inform people of this, but at some point the tax code is going to get majorly reformed and its not going to be some super progressive multi-tiered tax code where the rich pay 91%. It's just never going to happen.

The Tax code is going to be reformed onto a simpler model and yes, the poor may actually have to suffer with a reduced tax return in the future whether Democrats and liberals like or not.

The future is going to be some kind of modified flat/fair tax. It is only a matter of time. The days of progressive taxation filled with loopholes are rapidly fading. People are tired of handing poor people a profitable tax return. The most one should get back is 90% of what one puts in and not one penny more. No more $7000 tax returns to people who only put in a thousand dollars in withholding.
