Having a large field is good and it shows which party is less beholden to aggregated power, since Hillary would never have been able to run for president if she hadn't married Bill.

No, you can't attribute Americans twice choosing him as the nation's leader to them.

They did not vote for him.

It seems as though many of the comments here prove the point that liberals have no respect for debate. They are single minded. They want to eliminate all debate. Diversity of opinion is considered a bad thing in the liberal world.

They want their candidate selected by the party establishment and then want them to go unchallenged.

Respect for debate? The incredible irony of structuring this very post around generalization, ad hominem, and strawman.

    Follow what you preach.

Some incessantly fixate on mysterious "liberals" in their heads, and attribute to their imaginary entities the most absurd proclivities.

Personally, I expect to enjoy the assortment of characters going at it - especially when Huckabee exorcizes Trump.

I loved it when Willard manhandled Perry last time:

If the field is too crowded, someone might even pull a Gary Bower and fall off the stage!

Hey, a bunch of white dudes vying to be Willard '16 guarantees that mirth will ensue!

It is my personal belief that yes, that was correct to some extent. As well, many hardcore Conservatives simply stayed home on election day. I believe that if those two groups had voted for Romney ObaMao would be back in IL doing the 'shuck & jive'.

I agree the conservatives largely stayed home. Obama was unpopular in the summer and fall of 2012, but Romney wasn't seen as exactly conservative, either. Plus, as an earlier poster pointed out, the 47% video didn't help any. Said video was torpedo 1. Conservatives staying home was torpedo 2.

Savaging Republican nominees has become a delightful past time for Republicans lately.

In 1965, the California Republican Party Chairman, Gaylord B. Parkinson, when Ronald Reagan was being thrashed by others vying for the gubernatorial nomination, issued his “11th Commandment,” which said, “Thou shalt not speak ill of any Republican.” He added, “Henceforth, if any Republican has a grievance against another, that grievance is not to be bared publicly.”

Whether it is still "pc" to discretely ignore the gross inadequacies and foibles of fellow Rebublicans, I anticipate that the 2016 hoard of presidential wishfuls will resemble the Rockettes on steroids in circular formation.

Sprightly arse-kicking aplenty all 'round! And look for Randy to sport his signature "pickelhaube" Baydan black leather oxfords when he cajoles Carnival Cruz!

This always happens. There's always a big bunch in the beginning. Do you remember 08?

    - - - Updated - - -

"Carnival"? Was that supposed to be some type of insult?

Lol if you'd like, Natty, we'll give you another shot at that one.

    - - - Updated - - -

I didn't like Romney. However, when he said the 47% thing, I liked him a lot. He is absolutely right. Just as he was about Russia.

We are idiots for electing Obama.

"Carnival" has a decidedly festive air about it, and captures his jocund proclivity for antics such as shutting down Yellowstone when he had a tantrum over the Affordable Care Act.

If nicknames such as "Turdblossom" are more your style, you'll need to look elsewhere.

There is no requirement to defend anything of which I am aware.

Why is Carnival's moniker such a concern for you? You are welcome to one of your own improvisation, of course. I promise not to be critical.

George W {Dubya) Bush was, indisputably, our greatest president when it came to nicknaming.

I have no idea whether you delight in his efforts or are dismayed by them, but here are a few of his upon which you can opine rather than fixating on Carnival's:

    Poppy, 41, Old Man – George H. W. Bush
    Bushie – Laura Bush
Dino (short for Dinosaur) – Jean Chrétien, Prime Minister of Canada
Pootie-Poot, Ostrich Legs – Vladimir Putin, President and former Prime Minister of Russia
Bandar Bush – Bandar bin Sultan, ambassador to the United States from Saudi Arabia
Landslide – Tony Blair, former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom
Man of Steel – John Howard, Prime Minister of Australia
Shoes – Silvio Berlusconi, former Prime Minister of Italy
Big Time, Vice – Dick Cheney, Vice President of the United States of America
Rummy – Donald Rumsfeld, Secretary of Defense
Izzy, Altoid Boy – Special Assistant Israel Hernandez (for his role as provider of breath mints to the President on the campaign trail)
Boy Genius, Turd Blossom, the Architect – Senior Advisor Karl Rove
Condy, Guru – Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice
The World's Greatest Hero – Secretary of State Colin Powell
Big O (current), Pablo (former) – Secretary of the Treasury Paul O'Neill
Fredo – Attorney General Alberto Gonzales
Danny Boy, Dan the Man – Deputy Chief of Staff Dan Bartlett
Ari-Bob – White House Press Secretary Ari Fleischer
High Prophet, Hurricane Karen – Karen Hughes, Special Advisor
The Blade, My Man Mitch – Office of Management and Budget Director Mitch Daniels
Big Country – Federal Emergency Management Agency Director Joe Allbaugh
Brownie – Federal Emergency Management Agency Director Michael D. Brown
Brother George – CIA Director George Tenet
Sit Room Guy – White House Situation Room Director James P. Wisecup
Tree Man – Bush's unnamed Forest Services official
La Margarita – Secretary of Education Margaret Spellings
Tangent Man – White House Chief of Staff Andrew Card
Tiny – Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage
Light Bulb – National Energy Policy Development Group Executive Director Andrew D. Lundquist.
Bullets – Secretary of Agriculture Ann Veneman
M&M – assistant to Vice President Cheney Mary Matalin
Bama, Rock – Barack Obama, former Democratic Senator, Illinois, Bush's successor as President of the United States
Boner – John Boehner, former Republican Majority Leader, current Speaker of the House
Big Boy – Chris Christie, Governor of New Jersey
Pablo – Paul Wellstone, Democratic Senator, Minnesota
Pedro – Peter King, Republican Congressman from New York
Hogan[29] – John McCain, Republican Senator, Arizona
Big George – George Miller, Democratic Congressman, California
Freddy Boy, Freddo – Fred Upton, Republican Congressman from Michigan
Congressman Kickass – John Sweeney, Republican Congressman, New York

Ellis – Charles Ellis "Chuck" Schumer, Democratic Senator, New York
Ali – Barbara Boxer, Democratic Senator, California
Frazier – Dianne Feinstein, Democratic Senator, California
Sabertooth – Barney Frank, Democratic Congressman, Massachusetts
Red – Adam Putnam, Republican Congressman, Florida
    The Cobra – Maureen Dowd
Stretch/Little Stretch – David Gregory, NBC
Stretch – Dick Kyle, Bloomberg News
Super Stretch – Bill Sammon, then of The Washington Times, now of The Washington Examiner
Mikey – Mike Emanuel, Fox News
Shades – Peter Wallsten, blind reporter for the Los Angeles Times
Panchito – Frank Bruni, reporter who covered Bush campaign in 2000 for the New York Times
    Kenny Boy – Kenneth Lay

The Englishman – Peter McMahon, husband of Dana Perino
Flies on the Eyeballs Guy – Director of the CIA Counterterrorist Center Cofer Black
    Rosey – appointee Jack Rosen

In order to remain on topic, perhaps the party bosses could track down Dubya and encourage him to contrive such tags for the vast hoard of aspirants to the exalted position of Willard '16?

Give him something to do. Make him feel involved.

Running for the Republican presidential nomination is not dissimilar to host a conservative radio program. It's the same thing: trash democrats, trash government, get people in a tizzy, make a bunch of money, and get nowhere.

There are truly 2 or 3 people running for president or vice president on the Republican side. The rest are staking a claim to rake in millions. Super-pacs and billionaires will keep this primary going all the way to the convention and Jeb Bush will most likely buy it there.

Where was I concerned about someone's moniker. If I recall, and you can quote me on this, I laughed at your failed attempt at humor. I also stated, which you can quote me, that even I hate the guy.

So I'm confused, where did I state I was concerned :)

If you repeatedly post about matters about which you have no concern, it is an odd proclivity.

Most here address matters that concern them in some way.

That's an interesting and non-factual opinion you have. Thank you for sharing. :)

Thank you for sharing you super hilarious nick name for cruz too.

It reminded me of the movie meet the parents. It was hard to look at, but the humor was in the fail.

According to Gallup as of 9 March 2015, 27% of the electorate identify themselves as Republicans, 28% Democrats and 44% independents. Political party strength/identification/affiliation from 1936 to present. Thanks to Pew Research. Look at how the number of independents have grown throughout the years. Usually at the expense of the Democratic Party, but not always.
    1936 Rep 33% Dem 45% Ind 16%
    1940 Rep 35% Dem 41% Ind 18%
    1944 Rep 38% Dem 41% Ind 20%
    1948 Rep 35% Dem 40% Ind 23%
    1952 Rep 33% Dem 42% Ind 23%
    1956 Rep 33% Dem 43% Ind 23%
    1960 Rep 29% Dem 46% Ind 23%
    1964 Rep 25% Dem 51% Ind 23%
    1968 Rep 27% Dem 42% Ind 28%
    1972 Rep 26% Dem 42% Ind 30%
    1976 Rep 22% Dem 46% Ind 29%
    1980 Rep 23% Dem 45% Ind 29%
    1984 Rep 29% Dem 39% Ind 29%
    1988 Rep 30% Dem 35% Ind 31%
    1992 Rep 27% Dem 33% Ind 36%
    1996 Rep 29% Dem 33% Ind 33%
    2000 Rep 28% Dem 33% Ind 30%
    2004 Rep 30% Dem 33% Ind 30%
    2008 Rep 25% Dem 36% Ind 32%
    2012 Rep 25% Dem 33% Ind 36%
    Today Rep 27% Dem 28% Ind 44%

Today I attribute the rise in Independents since 2008 to dissatisfaction of the electorate to both parties. We have entered an era of polarization and what seems like both parties putting their political party above country.

Well you do make a point when you call them "clowns" and by writing that they cut themselves to ribbons during those debates. That is why I'm looking forward to the tv discussions. If there is one thing that all Republicans and right wingers have in common it is their anger and inability to control their emotions. Therefore, let's see them display all this hate and stupidity directed at each other as this will give the Democrats more fodder for their cannons and insure a victory for America in 2016.

Thank you for your show biz allusion. I'll probably stick with "Carnival" whether you need to keep offering your opinion of it, but I've been considerate in providing you with an ample list of Dubya's, should you wish to share more of your personal nickname verdicts.

GOP debates are a wonderful fusion of self-righteous anger and cold, calculated pandering. Since the party bosses and fat cats who will bankroll their "establishment" boy to further their acquisitive agenda have pre-determined the outcome, it's purely for entertainment purposes.

Those alienated from America will persist in bellywhinging, and vote for the loser once again. However, I'm afraid that nothing will rise to the level of madcap buffoonery as their Romney Landslide! last time. That was truly precious!

They can hysterically rage against Hillary Clinton and contrive and promote all the pseudo-scandals that they wish, but all that is required is that they offer an alternative that the American electorate (especially in some of the best educated states) prefers.
