Too much CO2 causing a climate crisis? Why not just plan stuff?

Grasses are better because when a wild fire comes through, the bulk of their carbon remains sequestered underground in the root systems and the grass grows back. Outlawing cellphones would reduce electric demand and carbon too but that won't happen ever. Changing the ingredients of concrete has been proposed. Family planning/abortion services in the third world would make a dent. Lots of things we can do realistically. Regreening the deserts isn't really one of them. The Colorado river no longer reaches the ocean. I don't know where they think the water to do this is going to come from.

Someone earlier noted it doesn't "come" from anywhere. It's just there, making up 71% of Earth's surface.

About 3% of that is fresh water and most of that 3% is locked and much deep underground.

Which means at a minimum, we need to engage in water management. Not pretend there isn't any.

Sure because putting salt water on the deserts will really encourage them greening up. Just ask the residents of Carthage.

Or you can ask the Israelis that have been growing citrus fruit with salt water for decades. Ask an MIT student about desalination and more. We don't have a water shortage problem but a lack of water management problem.

Back to reality: the dreaded Carbon Dioxide is an inorganic compound which is necessary for life on Earth. As a percentage of the Earth's atmosphere it makes up a whopping 0.04%. I wish I had ten bucks for every time I've ever posted this on any forum... I'd be driving a Bentley....

It wouldn't succeed in concentrating wealth in the hands of the very few that the AGW crowd demands as a result. Actually being "green" isn't and never has been the point. The church isn't about succeeding at making the world a better place, just "winning".....

Actually more trees is part of the problem. Trees are destroying the permafrost.

The same people who want to solve global warming are opposed to nuclear. That is the only carbon free way to do it since "green energy" can't even keep up with demand in California with its blackouts. And BTW, Israel's power for desalination and water reclamation comes from fossil fuels. That water is about as "green" as a barrel of crude oil. It is an extremely energy intensive process.

Maybe for now. Do it enough and you'll add to natural rainfall, lakes, riverways that will be salt free. But agreed. I am pro-nuclear.
