It's just so odd that the language doesn't ban trans males as well. Shouldn't they be banned as well? I actually feel bad for Castor Semenyana. She has no choice in the matter. She wasn't born a dude.

    https://www.espn.com/olympics/story...zers-ban-transgender-women-elite-competitions

World Athletics has banned transgender women from competing in elite female competitions if they have gone through male puberty, the sport's governing body said Thursday.

Organization president Sebastian Coe said at a news conference that the decision by the World Athletics Council to exclude transgender women was based "on the overarching need to protect the female category."

Coe added that World Athletics would form a task force to study transgender inclusion that would be chaired by a transgender athlete.

Also on Thursday, World Athletics voted to end its eight-year doping ban for the Russian Athletics Federation, but the country's athletes, and those of Belarus, will remain excluded from international competition because of an ongoing separate ban over the invasion of Ukraine.

The World Athletics Council kept its ban on Russian athletes in international events in place "for the foreseeable future" -- a move that goes against the International Olympic Committee's efforts to find a way for Russian athletes to compete as neutrals in upcoming events.

The council also voted to tighten restrictions on athletes with differences in sex development, cutting the maximum amount of plasma testosterone for athletes in half to 2.5 nanomoles per liter.

The tighter testosterone rules will affect athletes such as two-time Olympic 800-meter champion Caster Semenya, Christine Mboma, the reigning Olympic silver medalist in the 200 meters, and Francine Niyonsaba, who finished runner-up to Semenya in the 800 at the 2016 Olympics.

I'm okay with this. Physical competition brackets based on gender are one of the very few areas of life where your birth gender does matter.

They aren't banning trans males, because they gain no competitive advantage over cis males.

It's not anti-trans, its about completive fairness.

This is reasonable. I just hope it doesn't increase the use of puberty blockers on children.

There is no such thing as a transgender, Mother Nature can’t be fooled. My wife had her cat’s nuts chopped off, it’s still a male. Amazing.

There are only a tiny amount of trannies relative to the population. Of that tiny amount, how many decide to go into serious competitive sports? Of that even more tiny amount, how many are dominating women’s sports? What are the odds of that happening?

Jill Biden reminds me of Kamala.

MORE LIKE THIS, PLEASE: Track organizers ban transgender women from elite competitions. “World Athletics has banned transgender women from competing in elite female competitions if they have gone through male puberty, the sport’s governing body said Thursday.”

This phrase 'if they have gone through male puberty' catches my eye.

This is a step in the right direction. This war on real women needs to end.

I'd rather see categories based on bodyweight, height and hormone levels, but This is better than the alternative.

I'd frankly prefer these decisions be left to the individual sports membership bodies to impose within the rules of competition as a sport rather than an overarching ban by any World Athletics Board, but at least this does not represent a Big Brother Govt butting its nose, where it is incredibly ill-suited to be.

    100% Supportive of the Decision...
My position on this issue has been unwavering:
I am (and, always have been on record for several years at PF) Vehemently Opposed to Biologically-Born Males competing in Women's Sports...
The Biological Males have a Clear UNFAIR Advantage...Period!

That was tongue in cheek. It's obvious why it's unnecessary to ban trans males.

What does it mean? In most cases it would mean she's a biological male, but she isn't. It was a shitty thing she went through, and I'm happy she got a couple of gold medals for her trouble.

Since “real women” can’t be defined anymore in Democrat circles, there is no war.

Good. Same thing needs to happen at college and high school levels too.

It also means there’s no woman’s rights, no women’s health, no diversity hires because someone’s a woman, no woman’s schools, no women’s sports, and so on.

Might I remind you of biden's supreme Court pick who said that she was not qualified to define what a woman was because she's not a biologist?

I wouldn’t call her a biological female either. The assumption as far as I’m reading is no uterus, no reproductive organs but is getting an excessive amount of testosterone from having some form of testicles although may not be fully developed. Almost as if she was born with both private parts. That’s a rare situation and I understand that. But the XY leaves her closer to male genetics than a woman. That’s a scientific fact

It’s reasonable to ban biological women just because their body produces more testosterone than normally seen?

You're the one sitting here disputing that the left is acting like it's hard to define what a woman is.

There's a perfect example for you but if you hear that sound just know that it's the point sailing far over your head
