I know nothing except that words are not a violation of the armistice so we should not attack, let their SIDE attack first.

It would seem that's the Idea....rumors abound about "Secret" contingency plans being instituted as we speak by our military and intelligence agencies. I doubt it will come to that, but NK is insane and unpredictable, and this is far from the first time....remember?

"US plans total war against N. Korea
    IAN MATHER DIPLOMATIC CORRESPONDENT

WHILE the White House continues its public war of words with North Korea, a battle plan is already being laid in secret by military strategists at the Pentagon.

Until now leader Kim Jong Il’s increasingly flamboyant and frightening game of international brinkmanship has only attracted condemnation from the Bush administration.

But behind the scenes, American strategists are now weighing up the option of a pre-emptive military strike against North Korea as the rogue Stalinist state forges ahead with its plans to build a nuclear arsenal - threatening not only a "domino effect" of nuclear proliferation in east Asia but also a strike against the very heart of America.

It is a terrifying scenario, with likely casualties running to one million during the first day of an attack on North Korea - most falling victim to the long-range artillery trained on its southern neighbour.

Last week, in its most defiant act yet, a North Korean fighter jet crossed the border and played cat-and-mouse with a South Korean aircraft. When the US condemned the incursion, North Korea declared that there could be nuclear war on the Korean peninsula "at any time".

The US responded by placing on alert its long-range bombers based on Guam and ordering the aircraft carrier Carl Vinson and its battle group to sail to waters off the Korean Peninsula, fuelling talk of a possible US pre-emptive strike against North Korea’s nuclear facilities.

Military analysts predict North Korea’s next move will be a provocative missile test similar to the one carried out in 1998 which demonstrated that it could hit Japan. Only these days, North Korea has an as yet untested missile capable of carrying a nuclear warhead to California and, according to the CIA, "one or two plutonium-based devices".

Whether factual or not (OP article), it's impossible to deny the growing tension. Hopefully somehow it will be resolved, short of advanced military action.

But these looming tensions should serve as notice/warning, to the U.S. government as well as it's citizens to the dangers of complacency with regard to aspiration/escalation of advanced weaponry around the globe. The U.S. government sat on it's ass (for lack of a more descriptive term), for years and allowed this to happen, while meddling in the affairs of others, seemingly sometimes 'just because'.

The same is taking place with regard to reported Iranian aspirations, and has been for several years now.

It's frightening to me, honestly. I only wish it were to elected officials.

I am not advocating war. I do however, advocate keeping your mouth shut, minding ones propensity to meddle in world affairs, while at the same time not sitting by with idle gestures thinking it's all going to somehow magically go away.

Tend your own flock, but when forced to action, drop the civilized humanitarian politically correct horse sh*t, and be unforgivably decisive.

...and screw nation building afterward.

Someone needs to have a sit down with Un and ask him "do you want a war? Because if you want a war we can bring one." Otherwise shut the hell up.

There is nothing in the armistice about us feeding them.

“The general mission of the Military Armistice Commission shall be to supervise the implementation of this Armistice Agreement and to settle through negotiations any violations of this Armistice Agreement.” http://news.findlaw.com/cnn/docs/korea/kwarmagr072753.html

This is just more of the same hyperbolic rhetoric.

Apparently a translation error led to the incorrect belief that this was a declaration of war:

    ---------------------------

N.Korea to strike back if provoked - Pyongyang

Reports about Pyongyang declaring war on South Korea resulted from a mistranslation with the original text saying only that the North was entering a "state of war" with its southern neighbor, and that it would act accordingly only in case of provocations, which could degenerate in a full-scale war and even a nuclear one.

All that you have written it a parcel of rubbish.
War nuclear will be! The war beginning in the middle April.
Democratic People's Republic of Korea will put a primitive nuclear attack on neighbours, the main blow will be directed to Europe. Iran will put a nuclear attack across Alaska base of the USA.
For more persuasiveness Italy подстрахует Democratic People's Republic of Korea on ABM destruction in Europe and nuclear missiles of Great Britain, Germany, India....
Russia will start ballistic nuclear missiles (Satan) which will create distracting effect, thus the main weapon of an aggressor of Russia will be new rockets (Meteor) with a plasma charge which works from nuclear synthesis at achievement of temperature over 30 thousand degrees. In a word it is terrible the weapon, all Masons of the world will die (and those who will hide, will die of hunger), after all all live on a planet will be transformed into ashes and the planet will be similar to a planet from Hroniki Ridrika film when from the big temperatures there are only ashes.
But most it is terrible if Russia to apply weapon Nikola Tesla result Tungus explosion 1908.
P/s I think that fastest, Masons of the Earth Are great, a throat will cut (a fidelity oath gave, and traditions did not hold!), than it is the World it will be destroyed. Not you created this fragile world, not to you it to break! Time will answer all questions, it is necessary to wait very little!
You have forgotten, for what you are necessary in this World!

Well, Kim can't possibly back down now without losing face with his troops, generals and people. I guess this is the end for North Korea. Maybe he hopes China will cave and support him once everything is in motion?
