My pleasure. Governments ability to abuse power is in direct proportion to the lever of resources they control. To use an example you can understand, lets say that government wants to ban abortion. You need lots of people with guns, eyes and ears everywhere, and of course prisons. This is not cheap. Because abortion laws are impossible to enforce, there is no way to ban abortion unless you raise taxes significantly.

Of course, Dems have already done that where I live. A main factor in imposing authoritarian rule, is having a weak and dependent society. Disarming them is the first step. Here in the Dems petri dish, citizens have no secondment amendment rights. Only cops (And criminals) carry guns here. So if they decide that I must wear a mask while taking a walk in the park, people with guns will force me to wear the mask, pay a fine, of lose my freedom. Did you know that mom-n-pop businesses were forced to close their doors while people could crowd Walmart to buy the exact same item? Those controlling the resources deemed Wallmart "essential" and have the power to decide who gets to earn a living and who must become dependent.
