Can states be sued for printing ballots that include Trump as a candidate? Section 3 of the 14th amendment reads: Key members of the arch conservative Federalist Society studied this issue, finding that Trump's known actions today fully disqualify him from the office of the president. They state that there is “abundant evidence” that Mr. Trump engaged in an insurrection, including by setting out to overturn the result of the 2020 presidential election, trying to alter vote counts by fraud and intimidation, encouraging bogus slates of competing electors, pressuring the vice president to violate the Constitution, calling for the march on the Capitol and remaining silent for hours during the attack itself. “It is unquestionably fair to say that Trump ‘engaged in’ the Jan. 6 insurrection through both his actions and his inaction,” >> This includes that the 50 states could be sued for printing ballots that have Trump as a candidate. This is the analysis of "originalists" of the Federalist Society, our nation's most conservative think tank. They are backed by other arch conservatives, including backing by original Federalist Society founders. This is one more strong indication that the conservatives of the Republican Party are getting sick of Trump. Even beyond the various indictments, Trump is going to be facing headwinds.
