I agree that it can be argued that he was not acting in his official capacity as POTUS at the rally BUT I think most of the case you outlined and even the J6 committee focused on in the final hearing was his inaction during the riots. I think his lack of action could be considered an official presidential strategy with regards to the events. It may not have been the proper thing to do but it would probably be covered in his immunity protection. The whole point of the immunity is to protect the president from civil suits based on the actions he took, (or in this case didn't take), to execute his office.

 

You don't understand the concept of taking precautions? Even if very unlikely to become violent he knew that a lot of people would be there. Sorry if it bothers you that he excersized his right to free speech and assembly. I will protect that right with every breath. That is America. Without it, there is no democracy anyways.
