Um, no, not allowing 5000 in, but allowing 5000 to detention camps where they had 60 to process asylum process, or be sent back. It would have stopped the "catch and release" approach, but the bill was killed for partisan reasons.

They debated in 2020, and it didn't go well for Trump, and he actually canceled the 2nd debate.

 

They all should be turned back and directed to ports of entry. No law is necessary. The government just has to give up the national gerrymandering project and enforce the law.

And anyone caught crossing no at a POE is deported. The illegals coming to a POE can make asylum claims, no where else as, if caught, they are turned back or put in detention to be deported.

 

Not true. The great majority of immigrants enter illegally and are transported around the country at government expense. Not deported. I don't know how many are deported but those that are are in the minority.

The "catch and release" was exactly what the bill would have stopped. It was pretty much a GOP wish list in regards to immigration issues.

Using the app limits appointments to 1450 per day at only these ports of entry: Brownsville, Paso Del Norte in El Paso, Eagle Pass, Hidalgo, and Laredo in Texas; Calexico and San Ysidro in California; and Nogales in Arizona.

In reality Biden allows catch-and-release 'parole' for the multiple million illegals that don't use the CBP One app.

This is evidenced from CBP's own stats. Since CBP One appointments allow family units (more than one person per appointment), 459,118 illegals actually applied for asylum at the designated POEs. (and a couple million didn't)

Appointments typically take months to get and if you are lucky enough to get one, it is 3 weeks from the day you are granted one. Illegals don't wait.

The current law is ambiguous. The current law doesn’t specify that one must seek asylum at POE. Current law basically says if an individual is in US, he/s can seek asylum within a year after arriving. It doesn’t specify how individual arrive in USA.

Those who keep saying “ enforce the existing law and we don’t need new law” never read the law.

 

Trump didn’t need to debate Haley, Christy or Pence because he was already leading them by a wide margin. Biden’s approval ratings are in the toilet, he has to protect his job. If you guys think he would beat Trump then you should be all for a debate.
