He may be thinking of squaw.

If Trump had used that word, I'd be joining in the bashing of him.

Stories don’t cut it. DNA tests do.

    http://www.newsweek.com/trump-pocahontas-native-americans-elizabeth-warren-racial-slur-723858

"Pocahontas is used a racial slur in the United States all the time," Andrew Curley, a postdoctoral fellow in geography at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a citizen of the Navajo Nation, told Newsweek.

"I grew up with these kinds of remarks. It's not the name itself but the way it's used. Trump is using it to attack Senator [Elizabeth] Warren and belittle Native Americans at the same time. I take it as a personal insult."

Other scholars say Pocahontas is more than just a racial slur—it’s a colonial tool of domination.

“Scholars have stated that the myth of Pocahontas helps to perpetuate white Eurocentric values because she leaves her tribe and becomes a Christian, and this insinuates that Christianity is better than traditional Indigenous religion. Thus, the myth of Pocahontas becomes a method of promoting Eurocentric values and norms and is a tool of colonialism,” Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz, professor emeritus at California State University, East Bay, wrote in her 2016 book, “All the Real Indians Died Off”: And 20 Other Myths About Native Americans

Dunbar-Ortiz also argues that the European imagination of Pocahontas “borders on child pornography, given that the historical Pocahontas was a child when she met John Smith.”

Yes political incorrectness can be amusing and informative when used by design.

Then again, with trump it's not by design, its simply a function of his profound ignorance of history coupled with his total insensitivity and his complete lack of couth.

Well........Pocahontas was an Injun......so it makes sense that he would bring her up at an event honoring Native Injuns.......how is that a 'racial slur'?

Probably like them, their is a reason why you are poor today...

Why So Many Lottery Winners Go Broke

Indeed, the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards says nearly a third of lottery winners declare bankruptcy—meaning they were worse off than before they became rich. Other studies show that lottery winners frequently become estranged from family and friends, and incur a greater incidence of depression, drug and alcohol abuse, divorce, and suicide than the average American.

No wonder financial planners joke that if you have enemies, give ’em a lottery ticket.

so your source is a guy like you. So the people who made movies about her were racists? Again Elizabeth Warren is a native American...you posted a lot but failed to explain why this is insulting? She should be glad shes being compared to a native American who did so much in her short life. Maybe you could try explaining it in your own words.

Amazing how almost everybody is missing the point of this post...

It's not whether Senator Warren has Native American ancestry (I don't know and neither do YOU!)..
It's not whether it's OK for Trump to call her Pocahontas (we expect nothing less from this A-hat)....
It's not whether Pocahontas is a racial slur (I suppose it depends on the context, so it probably is a slur here - it's certainly a political slur)

It's that this "President" would use this political slur DURING a White House event to honor Native Americans doing service during WW2.... that's the story here.... It's another failure to do the simplest duties of his job - present a few medals and say "Thanks for your service"... All I'm saying is a real president wouldn't have made those comments at that time....

    Oh, I do too.

I think it will be interesting to see who she panders too; the Cherokee who she claims to be a member of, or the blacks; who were slaves of the Cherokee.

The Cherokee also fought with the Confederates, lets see her explain that.

    Some larnin' is in order:

"The claim:Testing Senator Elizabeth Warren’s DNA will prove once and for all whether she is part Native American, former Massachusetts senator Scott Brown said this week.
    <snip>
Both AncestryDNA and 23andMe have improved their ancestor analysis since 2010, when the American Society of Human Genetics pointed out the many ways the results can be wrong.

But there are still challenges. One is practical. To determine which genetic variations go along with which ethnic or geographic groups, both companies (as well as academic researchers) rely on existing databases. AncestryDNA’s leans on one containing about 3,000 individuals from across the world, Byrnes said, complete with their DNA information and their family tree. But only 131 are Native Americans, from both North and South America.

That small number means only a handful are, say, full Cherokees or Navajos or Delaware, which may be too few to fully capture all the DNA variants that a specific tribe, or Native Americans generally, have. If someone has Native American DNA that happens not to have been captured in the database, the testing companies can’t identify it.

As the genetics society warned, “even the [best] databases … reflect a woefully incomplete sampling of human genetic diversity, and this has important consequences for the accuracy of ancestry” testing.

Ancestry warns. The biggest problem is that our DNA comes from only a fraction of our ancestors. Every time an egg and sperm get together, roughly half the DNA of each makes it into the child-to-be. “If you go enough generations back there is a chance you don’t have any DNA from a particular ancestor,” said population geneticist Kasia Bryc of 23andMe. That chance rises the farther back you go, as population biologist Graham Coop of the University of California, Davis, has calculated.

The chance of an ancestor’s DNA not making it to a descendant is greater when a family tree has extensive “admixture,” meaning ancestors from multiple population groups — as Warren has said hers does. The verdict:“If Warren did have testing and it found Native American ancestry, we could be confident” she had a tribal ancestor, said 23andMe’s Bryc.

But if it weren’t found, it could be because DNA from a single Native American ancestor happened not to survive five generations of DNA scrambling. “Just because DNA [associated with Native Americans or any other population group] isn’t there doesn’t mean you should give up your family stories,” said AncestryDNA’s Byrne

It would be like calling Rachel Dolezal, Harriet Tubman after Rachel brags about herself. It would be like listening to someone tell their story(brag) about doing something they thought was a feat of strength and the American way and when they are done, saying, "Okay Superman", and telling that story at comicon.

Political correctness is far more than just being polite. It's the left's attempt to control speech and silence the right.

Yes, his father did. Maybe you should study the trump family. Yeah, Donald got a million from his dad, but where did his dad get the million to give him? And the father before him. Spending your days complaining on a forum isn’t going to make you rich, but if you apply yourself, you might be able to give your kid something to build off of and he can give your grandson a million to build more off of. You consider yourself super bad and don’t know this? Life is a ladder with a no loitering sign at the base.

She is a liar. And that is exactly what she did. A real native american was displaced due to her lie.
