    Presidents don’t ask for immunity for their actions as President, they assert it because it is already there, just like members of congress have.

    Except the courts have already ruled he doesn’t have any as he isn’t president. President Biden would have to exert it and I don’t see him doing that

    It still applies to what he did as President. People can’t sue a former President after he leaves office over actions or policy they disagree with. If he did something now, he could not claim immunity because he used to be President. What he did as President is immune for life civilly.

    It isn’t absolute. It’s protection against civil suits for acts taken in fulfilling his duties as President.
