Who's twitter feed? The ambassadors? I wasn't aware he had a twitter feed, still doesn't change the facts.
What about the fact that most countries on Earth have Ambassadors from other countries on Earth, some who like the country they are Ambassador to and some who don't? A President or a leader of a country ought to be grown up enough to realize all the people of the world don't like him or her. We all need the connections with other countries, whether they like us or not. When their people are in our country, we should treat them with respect. If something gets leaked, we shouldn't blame someone not responsible for the leak. We should act like adults and not spoiled brats.
Tell that to the ambassador, then. Again, I don't care what views he personally hold of whomever he is conducting his ambassadorial duties with as long as they are private. Things change when he states them in public on an account used in relations with his job. He can call Trump a racist nazi white nationalist fascist all he wants in private and I wouldn't care. Letting your personal views affect your professional position however? Yes, things does indeed change.
Do you know how idiotic the american ambassador in germany acts? Grenell is so pathetic, he has to fear to get expelled
Again, what in sam hell are you talking about? The entire flare up is over private correspondence being leaked and trump responding in typical pre-school manner. trump is a *****.
The ambassador's candid report -- which really was a waste of his time, since it just confirmed what everyone on the planet knows -- was leaked, by someone who wanted to cause trouble between the US and the UK. We don't know what their immediate motivations were for that -- perhaps it was someone who wants to cause more difficulty for the current Tory administration, although that really would be over-egging the pudding. Here's a thought. The UK may very well soon have a man named Jeremy Corbyn as its Prime Minister. He's fairly stupid, but you can be sure has a deep hatred for the US. He's a friend to every enemy of Western democracy, from the IRA to Hamas. I wonder what the American Ambassador will say about him -- should, heaven forfend, this man become the PM?
Grenell is an absolute moron. He insulted Germany first day in office and leaders here called for him declared persona non grata. He gets not invited to public events and when he attends events, he stands alone in a corner.
The man is suppose to act like a diplomate, who should know to keep his mouth shut, even if he has to deal with a tRump. An Ambassador should always behave properly in public, but I can give a pass to the UK Ambassador saying something that was leaked, even if I liked the President he criticized.
UK actually seized an Iranian ship, 3 small Iranian boats are not capable of seizing an oil tanker. The US has been responsible for hundreds of thousand of deaths in countries thousands of miles away including Iraq. The US carried out practically weekly bombings of Iraq from 1990. The US have assisted Saudi Arabia in bombing Yemen. The US and Israel assisted ISIS in Syria. The US funds the terrorism and land theft against the Palestinians by Israel. The US is the biggest terrorist nation in the world So try again
So then you support the ambassador then and are against trumps petty action? His comments were in private
Military power is one thing, but now the United States has the most dreaded weapon of all, the tRump visit.
In other words you want to go back to a time of outhouses and dysentery Globalism is here the trick is to manage it not close shop and go hide somewhere
Globalism has closed a helluva lot of shops and put tens of thousands of factories down to cobwebs and dust and lost the US millions of decent and good jobs. And now we finally have a man who has and who will hit them globalist bastards back.
Yes. I have made a similar comment previously. All this terrible division JUST for one 'man,' an absolute grub, Donald Trump. Surely, in the USA Republican Party there is someone, anyone far better than he is. What is wrong with Pence? After all, if Trump falls off his perch, Pence is POTUS.
I believe Trump won the support of the Republican Base because they sensed that a 'normal' Republican -- even one as conservative as Ted Cruz -- would continue to play by the unofficial rules of American domestic politics, and that these rules mean that America will soon be lost. They may be right or they may be wrong but that's how they felt. Of course, once having made that choice, many of them began to rationalize Trump's character -- he was "sent by God", etc. But the conservatives I most respect, that is, those of them who are Trump supporters, don't have any illustions about his character: one compared him to 'chemotherapy'. There is another aspect to his triumph and continued support: if you're familiar with Thomas Franks' thesis about "Kansas", you will know that many liberals believe the Republican working class base are naturally inclined towards the liberal/progressive/Democratic domestic program, except they can't hack the cultural radicalism which the Democrats have embraced. I think there is something to this. Well, Trump gave hints that, not being controlled by the Republican donor class, he was not a slave to the total free market, devil-take-the-hindmost economic philosophy that the Republican establishment embody. The idea that the Republican base could go for a different kind of Republican Party is further explored in FH Buckley's The Republican Workers Party, if you're interested.
