I didn't had as much informations about the american election for obvious reasons, but I thought that the main credit about Trump is that he is obviously toxic, Clinton is much more treacherous, sneaky and much more dangerous. From my point of view, the USA were totally cursed when they were stuck between Trump and Hillary. I'm not a big fan of libertarian ideology, but the libertarian guy seemed to me to be the "less worst" choice.

However, and as much I don't like Trump, I don't think the reaction of a part of the american left is appropriate. The most decent choice for a trump opponent for me is to endure the next 3 years with dignity and try to debate and convince right wingers with politeness. Anyway, I tend to think that the biggest change in a nation is first the sum of the change of the individuals who form a nation, the political change are more a reflection of the change of the individuals.

If one believes the exit polls, half of those who voted for Trump were anti-Clinton voters. Not necessarily for Trump, but definitely against Clinton. Half of 46% is 23% and that 23% may be the amount of Americans who are avid Trump supporters.

Trump's base of support may not be as large as the Trumper's think it is. Trump won because the Democrats decided to run a candidate viewed by most Americans as negative as Trump. Now with Clinton out of the way, More and more Americans are beginning to see that negativity in Trump. There is no more lesser of two evils or the least horrible candidate. Just an obnoxious, name calling, temper tantrum thrower, feud creater, very unpresidential president who is out there all by himself now.

 

Patriotism to Russia is bad drugs.
