President Trump gained the "upper hand" Saturday and helped his reelection chances by signing four executive ordersaimed at delivering relief to Americans struggling with the economic fallout of the coronavirus, according to the Washington Examiner's chief congressional correspondent.

"He definitely helped his cause by doing this, because what he's doing is two things," Susan Ferrechio said on "America's Election HQ." "He's taking away a talking point from Democrats who keep talking about the Republicans as being unwilling to help people."

The correspondent elaborated that the move directly contradicts the opposing party's message that "the president doesn't want to help people, doesn't want to help children, renters, the unemployed."

"He's saying, look, here I am taking action because Congress won't help me," Ferrechio added. "So I'm going around them.".......

I think that he’s got it exactly right! Democrats were caught red handed trying to hold the American people hostage to their getting goodies for their special interests in blue cities and states budgets and tax cuts for blue state rich people. Trump demonstrates yet again that despite democrat and mainstream media lies, he is the one who stands for regular Americans and the working and middle classes. I’m sure the lamestream media will try to change the subject.

 

Trump did the right thing to help Americans facing financial trouble through no fault of their own due to the infliction upon us of the virus from China.

Where does the constitution give the president the right to cancel a tax or extend unemployment benefits? I thought taxes and spending was the job of Congress. What is the point of a constitution if the president can make up powers now?

 

He has emergency powers due to the corona virus disaster and he has access to unspent funds from prior virus relief bills to redirect.

 

So emergency power gives the president the powers of Congress? I don't recall that ever being in the constitution. The founders never gave the president quasi-dictatorial powers in times of crisis.

It's a human virus. Saying it's a china virus is an insult to anyone who has a 7th grade biology education.

The job is not there to go back to.. Thousands of bankruptcies being filed. 400$ a week is not enough for many.. How much do we give Wall Street? I guess that helps me but I don't see how. I got completely out before the collapse we are in.
