So 3 Wash DC appeals court judges rebuked Trump in his seeking 'total immunity'.

Tsk tsk, it couldn't happen to a better dictator.

This was the expected outcome given the principle that no man (or woman) is above the law. Imagine what would have happened if they had ruled in Trump's favor? It would apply to Biden, as well (once the appeal to the SCOTUS failed), then Biden could just shoot Trump on 5th avenue with impunity for a real Greek styled ironic tragicomedy, no deus ex machina ending required. Clearly, Trump didn't think this through in his effort to avoid his current legal troubles.

Anyway, the very fact that he tried to acquire what would be the first step on the path to total doctorship tells us what this man's soul (or lack thereof) is made of.

    Anyway, what's next?

He'll probably appeal for an en banc review (all the judges and not just the 3 who just ruled), which I doubt will help, and after that fails, which is likely, he'll appeal to the Supreme Court, which I doubt they will grant cert because there really is no constitutional issue here that I can tell. Maybe you can enlighten me. If they did grant cert, I would be surprised.

WASHINGTON (AP) — A federal appeals panel ruled Tuesday that Donald Trump can face trial on charges that he plotted to overturn the results of the 2020 election, sharply rejecting the former president’s claims that he is immune from prosecution while setting the stage for additional challenges that could further delay the case.

The ruling is significant not only for its stark repudiation of Trump’s novel immunity claims but also because it breathes life back into a landmark prosecution that had been effectively frozen for weeks as the court considered the appeal.

    The court ruling:
