    Neither were sham impeachments. Both were evidence based. What was in question was whether they were necessary. The Ukraine issue, which he very much did, probably wouldn't have been an impeachable offense in a less divisive time. Even then, the Republican party should have censured Trump for it instead of pretending he did nothing wrong. Not the greatest look for the "law and order" party to let their president get away with abusing his power. The impeachment after Jan 6th was probably done wrong, since he wasn't even the president anymore. Had they had the evidence they have now at that trial though, the outcome could have been different. But probably not. Other than those brave Republicans willing to take a stand against Trump knowing full well the cost might be their political careers, it was just party line voting as usual.

    Republicans don't want to have to hold Trump responsible for anything. They will resist it with herculean effort. And don't get me wrong, the Democrats would do the same. Would be nice if we had a country where the political parties cared more about the office than the man holding it.

    There is so much bs in Trump's speech it's pathetic.
    So he is looking at China and Singapore for guidance? What an idiot!
    And there are people in the US going "oh yeah, Trump's right!" without even thinking about what is being said.
    So, if he has all these "great" ideas, why didn't he implement them while he had a Republican congress his first two years? Or even the next two years?
    This is the real example of TDS.
    Hey, we should do it like in the Philippines! We should just go around executing all criminals.
    Oh wait, except for stealing money from veterans, supporters and children. And ripping people off with scams. Those crimes should be ignored or pardoned.
    And spare me the "Trump cares about the police" after he intentionally ignored the Capital police getting beaten by Trump supporters.
    Trump is a bag of hot air.
    People who continue to support him are fools, as they are being fooled by a fool.
    I would suggest that conservatives find a new spokesperson. This one is a joke.
