    It isn’t just the ties.

Donald Trump has taken some grief for the fact that his signature neckties are made in China. But the scope of Trump-branded products made outside America is larger than has previously been reported — especially when that includes the clothing line named after Trump’s daughter, Ivanka, which is listed on the Trump Organization website as part of the Trump empire.

Thousands of items with the Trump name on them — furniture, shirts, shoes, salad bowls, even “Trump body soap,” and much of Ivanka’s growing jewelry and clothing line — have been made by companies, often paying Trump simply for the use of his name on their goods, that employ foreign workers.

    https://www.yahoo.com/politics/trum...ghters-190543492.html?soc_src=mail&soc_trk=ma

So it appears it's more than just his clothing line that has been outsourced. Apparently there's more than that...yet he wants to bring jobs back. Reminds me of the saying "Judge me not by my words, but by my actions"

I've heard his words, but his actions speak far more than that...

He's a businessman looking out for his own interests. As a civilian was he supposed to put himself at a disadvantage and raise his costs for no reason? But where's the problem anyway? Obama says the economy is booming and unemployment is extremely low. If Obama is to be believed there is no problem.

Sure, and I've had to go offshore as well

    Why is that?

Disney has off-shored, GE appliances sold to the Chinese, GM imports from China. Yes, the same GM that US taxpayers bailed out.

Why not address the root cause?

I and many many others have made those decisions not because we want to do that, but the survival and propserity of the business demands that we do.

Understand that we owners of businesses are at the mercy of govt regulations, taxes, mandates and laws.

If you want to know how to "burglar-proof" your home, you hire a burglar, not a politician

If you want to know how to make the environment business friendly which is good for all, you elect a businessperson, not the politicians who created the mess

    It's common sense

You hit the nail on the head right there Steve....he's looking out for himself. Do you honestly think he is going to do all that he says he is?

People need to wake up and realize this is just a power game for him. He will not do even 1/4 of the things he said he will...

Right now he's working for himself but as president he said he'd work for all of us. If he was in it for a buck why would he be financing his own campaign? With his wealth and at his age would it be wrong to think that maybe he wants to give something back to the country that allowed him to do the things he's done? I'm hoping he's being truthful - I know Clinton isn't and I'm afraid Sanders is.

He flips and flops way too much. You can't figure out what he believes about anything and so you can't depend on what he might do. I can't get behind that. I trust Cruz. He's all we have left.

What makes you think he'll live up to that promise?

He is loaning money to his campaign, which means that his campaign has to pay him back at some point in the future.

Exactly. Most all of the attacks on Trump don't make any sense because they all misrepresent the actual problem at hand. It is government that makes the system rigged, and people like Trump just use the rigged system the government gives them.

So you can't blame Trump and other businesses for taking legal advantage of the government's rigged system, but you can blame government for making it so rigged in the first place. And that is the essence of Trump's campaign, reigning in the rigged system that the government created, and that he used himself as a business man.

It is like blaming welfare recipients for receiving endless amounts of welfare, when you should be blaming the government for making it so easy for them to get welfare in the first place. We need to reign in the creator of the chaos, not the user of it.

the easiest way for trump to make money is to take advantage of the current system and stay out of the race. If money was his main motive then he could just let things run as they are.

He has always said that he will take advantage of advantages legal within US law. Did he commit any felonies by importing ties? Because it appears Hillary is under FBI investigation for felonious behavior.

If you are going to run on the platform that not committing felonies is more despicable than running before the hounds seeking indictment for felonies, then I guess you will.

Hey lib. Under current trade agreements, if you do not outsource, you lose money. The point is to change that, not to convince folks to lose money.

    DUH ! ..... mass

I trust nobody who claims to have the answers. We see that in Bernie, Hillary and Obama

We see that in Cruz, Rubio and Kasich

A true CEO surrounds themselves with smart people who are Subject Matter Experts (SME)

The executive then listens to all points and has the ultimate decision

Mr candidate- how will you imporove the economy

What the answer should not be- go to my web site for a comprehensive plan on blah blah blah

what the answer should be- well I can tell you what has hurt business and it's all caused by govt. My team and I will gather and review what can be done immediately and then each subsequent quarter. We will monitor results and if they aren't positive, we will modify things. We will not do this in a vacuum but will solicit input from small and mid-size businesses, the fabric of this nation.

THAT is what a CEO does and what this country needs

A local textile mill used to make a lot or premium bedding, curtains, etc, including some signature collections and all the movie-related sheets and the like. Another local company used to make a lot of premium clothes. The latter shut down and the former went bankrupt and moved to Pakistan. When Donald said he couldn't find domestic producers, I believe him. Care to guess which candidate's husband free traded all these very vulnerable jobs into non-existence?

LOL...yeah...just because I don't like or trust Trump that automatically makes me a lib....riiiiiiiiiiight..

On a side note, Trump has been around for awhile and has plenty of political contacts. Are you trying to tell me him and other billionaires couldn't press Congress to do something about this problem.

I have a bridge to sell you too...

Trump is running so as to do the things that congress has so far refused to.

And yes, if it looks like a duck, and walks like a duck, and talks like a duck, its a lib.

Like I said...all these years since NAFTA has been in effect and not a word from Trump or other billionaires saying it was a bad idea. Take off the blinders. Things are not going to change with Trump

If you say so Bubs...whatever helps you sleep at night

Hey. Many, including trump, have been blasting NAFTA. And he is blasting it now. Hillary and Bernie are not. Get it ?

    - - - Updated - - -

Actually they are not. Controlling our borders is a fundamental role of government. That includes products, services, and people.

Liberals have to stop posting such stupid (*)(*)(*)(*) in lieu of actually thinking.

Hillary didn't use her private server because she was looking out for the Best Interests of the United States.

She sets a very low bar that Trump can easily clear. Do you think Democrats should continue to support Hillary even if she gets indicted or should she withdraw from the race?
