Former President Donald Trump on Wednesday blamed “Radical Left Democrats” for rising inflation after Labor Department’s Bureau of Labor Statistics announced that the consumer price index in June rose to 9.1% from one year ago.

"Inflation just hit ANOTHER 40-year high of 9.1%, which is terrible for our Country," Trump said in a message released by his political action committee, Save America.

"Fuel prices up 60%, Airfare up 34%, Eggs up 33% — how can people survive this? How can businesses survive this?

I think this is an opportune moment for this comment I saw today….

You were probably preoccupied with anticipating that check coming in from Mexico to pay for The Wall, or waiting for COVID to magically disappear as promised.

And if Trump had won and the inflation came just like it was always going to no matter who got elected he'd still be blaming it on the Democrats. His best bet at actually being truthful would be if he said the inflation would be a little lower because he wouldn't have shut down the pipeline or halted new drilling leases. But this is an election year so I suppose we shouldn't expect any politicians to be even remotely truthful no matter which party they are from.

 

He would have done as you said with the pipeline and energy and we’d be exporting LNG to Europe now too. He would not have spent 2 trillion on additional stimulus just after his second term started either. If he were President we would not have had the last two federal budgets spend as much as we actually did.

 

Or put infected patients back into the retirement community.

 

You do realize that the reason there was such a high mortality rate early on into the pandemic was due to medical staff placing patients on ventilators which was a death sentence... Oh yeah, and also the point Democrat governors putting infected elderly back into the retirement homes. How many lives did these criminal decisions take do you think?

Trump was all for stimulus plans when he could take credit for them. I even remember him bullying Republican Congressman who were against them. If he thought the 3rd stimulus would win him the attention he craves every moment of every day, he would have signed in a heartbeat. So that little tidbit is pure fantasy.

As far as exporting LNG, why do we want to do that? We should be keeping our energy, not selling it.

And lets not pretend that Trump was any kind of champion for shrinking budgets.
