Wow. This seems like a HORRIBLE Idea.

Especially using Easter as an artificial deadline.

This seems like a really bad look for Trump.

    Thoughts?

We know what we need to do. We know who is at serious risk. We simply have to protect those at serious risk through self quarantine or set quarantine areas for them and let everyone else move on with their lives...

Maybe set up WW2-Style "Relocation Camps" to quarantine the infected?

Then, we can all move on? Got it.

I guess you missed the self quarantine part. Bravo! Simply shifting resources in existing government financed properties would allow those at risk to remain local and have every comfort available...

You do realize that without adequate testing, we have no way of knowing who is already infected and who is not. This is why South Korea was able to quell the wave of infections by testing everyone. We're nowhere near that. You would be quarantining the wrong people and infecting others.

Any quarantine would be voluntary and testing could be mandatory for those who chose leaving self quarantine...

Won't matter what Trump wants. A lot of states are going to be in the thick of it come Easter, and they're not going to ease up on social distancing until we massively ramp up the testing.

We had what, 60 million infections and 12000 deaths from h1n1? I don't remember nearly the same hysteria. I fear Trump has walked into a trap. The libs are hoping this shutdown goes on and has the media in lockstep.

He had won on every front. ISIS, Judges, Russia Hoax, Ukraine, Economy, Mexican Invasion etc.

This is the Anti America pro-Globalism anti-White Christian mob's last hope.

A voluntary quarantine is stupid, especially when you already have had so many people who show little to no symptoms at all, yet they are still infecting others. And we do not yet have enough test kits!

If you could stop it tomorrow but it meant Trump wins in 2020 would you? I doubt it...

    300 million are not infected.

And the obvious point is that we are still learning about the virus. So while you think it is possible to handle the one off case, I would note that the hospitalization rate for this virus is around 15-20%.

Yea, I had an HR meeting today and the response to the question of whether we would follow any order from Trump to open up by returning to work was essentially, "**** no."

UNDERSTAND TWO BASIC ****ING POINTS PLEASE:

    A) THIS VIRUS IS DEADLIER THAN H1N1 AND EVERY OTHER FLU
    B) THIS VIRUS SPREADS EASIER THAN MOST FLUS.

In two weeks we are going to have a lot more cases, probably over a million, and at the minimum over 500,000. If Trump wants to open the economy then, why not just do it now where we have much fewer cases?

I'm supporting Trump for another four years, even though I'm not in lockstep agreement with everything he says and does.

This is one of those things.

Our medical infrastructure isn't prepared for this. We need to lockdown until the flow of ppe, equipment, tests, medicines and treatments might have a chance in hell to keep up.

People are working really hard to make that happen, but I hardly doubt a month is sufficient. New cases are still skyrocketing, and the virus has barely touched it's 100's of millions of potential hosts here in the states. Give it a chance and it will. It's contagious to the point that it won't simply go away on it's own (which wouldn't be an issue if it weren't lethal for some), AND it's already mutating. To make matters worse, forget about the fact that it's mutating... you can catch it, recover from it, then catch it again... which means you're now contagious again.

Nope, there's no way a month is long enough.

    Sounds good.

I think that (just like 73% of Eligible Voters in 2016) I may do just that.

Therein lies our problem, aside from the fact that it's lethal for some.

People seem to be forgetting that this will be an issue for those with health issues not related to covid.

They don't care. They are in revolt, and it's a war that America has to win against them.
