The ignorance is astonishing, here's a professional diplomat thinking the entire Iran agreement voided is because of petty jealousy and personal reasons.... the fact you buy into this crap tells me exactly how uninformed you are.

He completely ignores the Israel factor, the Saudi/Yemen/Iran conflict, the Saudi economy dependent on oil prices, Iran's refusal to cooperate with OPEC, the high development cost of fracking wells and levels of debt of American oil companies, I haven't even started on Hezbollah....none of these things are relevant it's all a personality conflict

I don't think the issue is whether the man was any good. The issues he ignores are because the UK is in tango with the US on them so it is no problem to them. Having said that Trumps own reason for outing the Iran deal was probably because of Obama - that and being assured Iran would jump and do whatever they wanted and he would be a hero. Ending the Iran deal has been the biggest and most dangerous blunder the US has made. It is widely thought Trump would give a lot to go back and not do that.

The UK will have put in an ambassador who suits their current politics. That includes accepting the Iran deal. It also includes supporting the Saudi/Yemeni war. It also includes unconditional support for Israel though possibly not of the American Christian Rights desire for Greater Israel. The only issue is the danger this puts into the right of the diplomat to have his own opinion and report that back to his country and the effect on the sovereignty of countries for this to be stopped. Trump acted like a child the way he responded to the leak. A child in charge of the most dangerous country in the world is itself dangerous.

No idea if it is true either. We moved away from the US after WW2. Most of the people who believed the USSR was Marxist and were traitors have been dead for some time now.

I think when the Tories have blamed Russia it tends to be linked to their desire for a possible war if Brexit gets near civil war or revolution. I think the US massively intrudes into other countries more than Russia. The only question is who would benefit. When I heard Brexiters and leader Boris not supporting our ambassador - and that does not say I like him, just that the office ought to get support for doing its job, from its country. There was at least a rumour that Boris not saying he would support him if he becomes PM, which everyone think he will, was the final straw which made him resign. When I then discovered that all the Brexiters interviewed also did not support him and thought he should resign and not only that but seemed very excited at the idea of putting in someone similar to Trump as Ambassador, it struck me they were the only people looking like they had a motive.
