Fascinating article - the guy really is a shyster. There's a good article in the NYT that looks into his business mess ups in New York. You can read it here.

His utter lack of vocabulary and speaking skills tells me that. Tells me he's an idiot. Don't need any articles, but will read later. Just for laughs. Thanks Phoebe.

It is astounding...isn't it? When I can tolerate listening to him speak, I feel as if I want to shove my hand down his throat to pull words out. His limited vocabulary and lack of command of the English language is mind-boggling.

trump makes George Bush Jr sound extremely articulate.

You've got to just shake your head at a crowd of people who would idolize someone as boorish and utterly ignorant as trump. I can never decide what's worse...listening to him spew lie after lie when he's off the teleprompter or watching him slowly try to read when he's on it.

Considering the democrats ROI on social programs, and public education I'd say Trump couldn't possibly do any worse. Trump in fact has a positive balance in his bank account as opposed to our national deficit of $20 trillion. Your quote from his ex-wife is actually quite insightful. Not many men can count their ex-spouses as allies, and his children certainly seem very well adjusted. Trump had enough liquid cash to forgive $50 million in loans he made to his campaign. HRC has no visible means of support, outside of "donations" or "speaking fees", Whitewater ring a bell?

Another "feelz" thread, this one camouflaged as a "business" thread where posters start by taking a slanted hit piece in Complex MSM at face value without question and degrade from there. Bravo.

EDIT: I just looked at the article writer's resume' on an obviously self-authored wiki page; zero financial, business or private sector accomplishments other than -writing- about things he's never experienced from the inside. Maybe we should ask Paul Krugman or Michael Moore what they think about Trump, or Rush Limbaugh to opine on Hillary's accomplishments, would be about as objective and informative.

    I dunno 'bout that Sanskrit.

“If [Indian gaming] continues as a threat, it is my opinion that it will blow. It will blow sky high. It will be the biggest scandal ever or one of the biggest scandals since Al Capone,” Trump said. “That an Indian chief is going to tell [mobster] Joey Killer to please get off his reservation is almost unbelievable to me.”

His words were, as is so often the case, incendiary. Lawmakers, latching onto his claim to know more than law enforcement about ongoing criminal activity at Indian casinos, challenged Trump to bring his information to the FBI. One attacked Trump’s argument as the most “irresponsible testimony” he had ever heard. Connecticut Governor Lowell Weicker Jr., whom Trump had praised in his testimony, responded by calling him a “dirtbag” and a bigot; Trump immediately changed his mind about the governor, proclaiming Weicker to be a “fat slob who couldn't get elected dog catcher in Connecticut.”

Seems clear to me. No opinion needed. This is the same Trump we see today. An ignorant (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*). Only a lemming couldn't see it.

You could put together a refutal of the facts in the Newsweek piece. You won't, because it's all true.

I was already familiar with much of it even before I read the article.

I am also aware of many things that the Newsweek article did not cover. There is enough material still out there for Newsweek to do a second piece on Trump's business acuamen.

There is one thing that Donald Trump has never been able to show you in the year that he has been campaigning.

He's never shown you a happy business partner, nor has he ever shown you anyone who ever did more than one deal with Donald Trump.

You know that how? Because previous articles about his finances show he's quite often substantially under water. Did you even read the link in the OP?

Yes, I read the link. Yes, some Trump ventures have failed. Does that somehow change anything I said in my post? If Trump were to retire today, would he in his penthouse, with billions in holdings, and a wonderful family still not meet your personal standards of success? Sorry, Mr. Buffett

Only a lemming would accept a lopsided, cherry-picked account at face value that gives only one side of a legal dispute or testimony in it.

"I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed."

    Michael Jordan (from brainyquote)

It's always amusing to see Complex drones with 0 private sector accomplishments attempt to condemn private sector success, and fail.

What a steamer. No one has made a convincing case for -anything- refutable in this thread. Linking a lopsided hit piece that begins with the most egregiously slanted hyperbolic language imaginable is not an "argument," not a legitimate claim, just typical Trump bash parroting.

Interestingly, I read one of this writer's books para "Serpent on the Rock," in the distant past. It was a typically biased "expose" from one of these inexperienced, unaccomplished (in finance or private sector affairs) Michael Lewis types. Reading it seeking a complete, balanced story in context was a complete waste of time. This article in the OP is no different, just read the opening paragraph to know what kind of uninformative sht sandwich designed to soothe the confirmation bias of Newsweek's LW Complex readers one is about to be served.

False, proven so by Mark Burnett and the Learning Annex guy whose name I can't remember off the top of my head, without even googling. With googling, I could come up with dozens, if not hundreds of contractors, law firms, banks, investment banks and others who have done business with Trump repeatedly for many years. Not going to waste my time for a crowd who posts a raw link to a Newsweek LW sewer pipe hit piece and nothing more. Newsweek is about as "in the bag" for Clinton as the WAPO and NYT, has been an organ of the Democratic Party for decades. This thread is like starting a Hillary thread by citing Rush Limbaugh and expecting that be taken at face value.

I doubt that you will be interested
But here is a piece on trump from 1991.... So although it is a hit piece, it has no political agenda
But, trumps overall way of workng has been obvious for a very long time
And while donald clearly has some talent.... He is no self made billionaire...
And has a spotty record... That show his success often coming from political manipulation and exploiting government programs and subsidies.

    1. No link. 2. To the LW/Complex no private sector success is "self-made." Trump took his father's business into Manhattan, the US and the world. Other than whatever his father built in the outer boroughs, he is the very definition of self-made. 3. I would gladly read any court records of cases decided against Trump, have read and evaluated several... in the context of the thousands of business relationships, employees and deals he has successfully maintained/retained/completed over the years. But we never see that from the LW sewer pipe, just hearsay and wildly biased, out of context claims.

I had to find out who Mark Burnett is, since I don't watch much television, and I avoid so called "reality TV" like plague.

I assume you mean this guy: http://www.tmz.com/2016/05/05/mark-burnett-donald-trump-apprentice-arnold-schwarzenegger-video/

As for Learning Annex, you'll have to do a lot better than that. First of all, there is no evidence the Trump did anything more than sell his name for thier use in promoting shady "get rich kwik seminars". If that's what you think big business is, you don't know much about the world.

Learning Annex is a shady operation, in and of itself. So, if that's your idea of a great repeat business partner.....well.

    http://www.slate.com/blogs/moneybox...pute_says_everything_about_the_shadiness.html

    As for you claim.

    Get busy. Prove it.

It's his words, Sanskrit. His words. Don't need no cherry picking nor account. His words are plain as day.
