Trump's lack of ambassadorial appointments

As of 20 June 2017 President Trump has secured the appointment of only 15 amabassadors to foreign countries and the UN. Besides being embarassing and a demonstration of Trump's ineffectiveness, the incredible number of unfilled ambassadorships seriously jeopardizes United States foreign policy.

Have a look at what Trump hasn't done while he wastes time fronting his self serving lies, writing bizarre tweets and playing golf.

Well, at least he is saving money!!

In the short term - look even countries like Bhutan have overseas embassies and ambassadors because these are the people who can get work done in the international arena

 

But, he HAD to fire all the ambassadors with no notice, because they all had Obama-cooties.

 

I know, and that was ridiculous. All of those appointments could have remained in place until a replacement could be confirmed. But no, the idiot-in-chief guts the State Department because of his disdain for Obama. "I'll show him. I'll screw up our foreign policy assests."

Trump is such a fool.

I agree with the previous posters - there was nothing wrong with leaving the incumbents in those positions until he had new appointments but no the Child in Chief had to kick the sand castle over even though it was supporting Grandads deck chair

 

Ambassadorships are mostly symbolic, they are offered to people who really don't have a real live and donated a whole lot of money to the DNC or RNC.

Ambassadors do very little, they are in charge of putting on shindigs, fandangos and parties at the Embassy.

It the professionals, the career United States Foreign Service people like Christopher Stevens (RIP) who was thrown under the bus by President Obama and Crooked Hillary who run the embassies and are the real diplomats representing the President, not the ambassadors.

Maybe we should leave NATO then, if you say we are not welcome. It would save us trillions of dollars wasted on protecting nothing of value.

South Korea was one of the US's largest trading partners. Trump has not replaced the ambassador to South Korea. Now the South Koreans are talking more to China about trade deals. THAT is what happens when you ignore your trading partners.

Asinine to say it doesn't matter. Pure stupidity.

 

Oh, we're welcome in NATO. Just without that idiot Trump making a fool of himself.

Maybe some Americans don't see any tangible benefit to it. The hubris of Germany is shocking. They are complaining about additional sanctions, when they supported the existing sanctions. Basically, the message is, **** world, if it harms our bottom line, in completely minor ways.
