This is about training young people in high school to get a skilled job the moment they graduate. It's about re-training people who have been in the workforce a long time, but don't have current skills.

A great idea. It's also noteworthy that young people in trade schools don't riot, destroy public property, or block free speech.

 

I've always felt that being able to work and get ahead is a fundamental right. During the 2007 depression, so many really good workers were wasted when there were no jobs, and technology had moved on to make people obsolete. The older workers suffered the most. All they needed was a chance. Having someone in the government who could say, "we need workers over here!" and then provide the training would have been a fantasy come true for so many who had lost everything.

This may bring us back to a time when people could enter a company and work their way to the top. Boeing and Oracle have joined in.

 

The definition of "Liberal" is open-minded and tolerant.
The Left is neither open minded nor tolerant -- so I refuse to call them Liberals.

The definition of "progressive" is the ability to identify a way to correct or transform a shortcoming in society to produce a more positive outcome for all.

Trump is open minded enough to allow innovation. If the Left were smart instead of wooden-headed imbeciles, they would sieze the opportunity to get programs through with the help of a president who is not a partisan. But they are imbeciles. They completely ignore the chance for revisionist history - and claim Trump is not really a republican, he is a democrat due to the big switch.

Point is, this administration took action on it. With an EO nonetheless! No configuration of Congress in the past 16 years has even so much as attempted to jump start private growth in America. If not for what happened in Finland,this would've bolstered him to above 50% approval rating for the first time.

 

The argument over minimum wage has just gone up in smoke. People will no longer be stuck in a job that keeps them impoverished, if they have smarts and gumption.

The argument about college being un-affordable has just gone up in smoke.

The ludicrous argument that people have to work two jobs has just gone up in smoke.

 

When government policies are oriented towards the private sector and towards productivity, all of the other issues tend to resolve themselves.

 

It still will - people don't care about Finland, they care about jobs for themselves and for their adult children. They care about income. They care about providing a home and personal security. Trump just won the upcoming election.

I'm giving a shout out to the corporations who are buying into the commitment to train their employees to the skill level they need. For so long, they just tried to bring in people who had the skills developed in another company.

No, but you can get the ball rolling by setting up the organization, getting meetings and commitments(and it seems they got the ball rolling already.) In general, this is good news and somewhat softens the blow to what happened this past week.

We have already seen Trump at work bringing corporations back to home soil. We have seen the unemployment rate drop to the lowest in decades, which has been especially beneficial to blacks and latinos. We have seen our economy rise above the stagnancy of the Obama years. Now, we need to see people's incomes rise proportionate to living expenses. On the day this was announced, we saw big corporations climb on. The business model is not new, it is actually classic - Starbuck's uses it, Les Schwab uses it, plumbing companies use it. How can you bash that?

Trump's EO requires no federal funding other than oversight staff. It is beneficial for companies complaining of lack of skilled workers. It provides an opportunity to get people back to work and developing the skills to get ahead. Trump is stimulating more than the economy, he is stimulating peoples' confidence that if they apply themselves, they will get the life they desire. THIS is the revolution we need!

It also completely pulls the rug out from under the commie movement.
