Truth: The US does not dominate the world militarily or economically. Lies: "We're the United States for G* sakes, the most powerful nation in the history of the world... we can take care of both of these (Ukraine and Israel) and still maintain our overall international defense"... "and if we don't then who does?" Whole Truth: The situation is not as bad as our scare mongers say, it needn't be an existential crisis and it is fully recoverable. We don't have to dominate the world as long as we don't keep going to war or conflicting with everybody or spending money we don't have. We need to ditch the neoconservatives (war makers) and correct the economy to reduce neoliberalism (off-shoring) as well.
The plane is good, it's the pilot who is a disaster. At present the US has no leader - the Generals and weapons makers tell the public we can and should fight this war and then that war, that we are sure to win and to correct some grave alleged injustice. The big wars are wars we don't win and can't afford, but we keep going back for more, for some justification, each different than the last, but most are lies or badly-warped truths. That's the Neocons (Neoconservatives) who started two wars in the first term of G W Bush and have been starting wars in both parties ever since.
Neoliberalism is the other problem. Domestically a big sector of the population lacks achievable goals. How can you get a job making something when the factory has been moved to Mexico and pays peanuts, or to China? Sure there is employment but it is either in retail, or is government related busy work. Most people want to make or create things, not just fill in computer forms or do telemarketing. Why has the production left? Labor here is too expensive and a significant factor in that is providing private healthcare. The US is the only advanced economy with a for-profit healthcare system and it is very expensive.
