Great so if China begins arming Mexico, topples their leader and replaces him with a Chinese proxy, I am 100% convinced that America would never see that as a threat amirite? We would be perfectly happy with South America joining in a military alliance with China... correct? It certainly would pose no threat to us.

I do not expect Tucker to grill Putin. I expect him to get Putin to articulate his reasons for invading Ukraine. I suspect that they will match up with the reason Meersheimer laid out more than a decade ago.

 

And you’re convinced we would respond to that threat with zero diplomacy, warnings, ultimatums or appeals to other nations, just a sudden massive invasion followed by mass atrocities as we specifically target civilian infrastructure hoping the desert sun kills them all, at least those we haven’t murdered, raped and kidnapped beforehand?

It’s so cute the way you people make these false comparisons that fall flat on their ass as soon as anybody puts the least amount of actual thought into it.

There are ways to conduct war, and there are not ways to conduct war. Russia chose the very, very illegal and criminal way to do it. So unless you can prove not only that the USA would choose such a ridiculous path but that people like me would also support it, you can stuff that nonsense.

 

China is indeed arming South America and is indeed trying to establish military bases there. They have done the same precursors to inserting troops that America has done all over the world. America is treating it as a SEVERE THREAT. They could be a precursor to WWIII. Our machinations in Ukraine were just as much a threat to Russia as China's in South America are to us. In the end, FORCE is only mediator that actually matters. If we don't use force there eventually we will lose.

Putin said all the way back in the 2000s that the Ukraine was his thin red line. He reiterated that multiple times and earlier diplomats believed him. As competence drained from the upper echolon of the America elite, they ceased to believe him. I wonder if we will wait two decades as China opens more and more military bases in South America. I hope not.

I commend him for going there to interview him. It is both brave and important. I question if he will do a great job at it or refrain from pushing his own biases into it, but I don't think Putin will care who is interviewing him, and it is always fascinating to hear from the leader of the other side of a conflict.

 

While there he should try to interview Snowden, if Snowden is still there.

 

I also question his motives. But, taking off my partisan gloves for a moment I do think it'll be interesting to hear what Putin has to say. Probably predictable, but nevertheless interesting.
