Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, recently made infamous over resurfaced blackface photos, has instructed his ministers to create new legislation aimed at tackling "hate speech" on social media.

The mandate letter, sent to Canada's Minister of Heritage, calls for legislation to be drawn up imposing "significant penalties" on social media companies that do not remove so-called hate speech within 24 hours.

Progressives keep denying they want to limit free speech. But here it is.

It's that impulsive penchant for big government overreach inside them.

That is what happens in a country without free speech rights.

How to spot a bad article 101, what does blackface have to do with a hate speech law?

Anyways to the point on hand. For the exact same reason I can't insult the OP, free speech just looks different in other countries than the U.S.. If speech is an action and actions cause unnecessary suffering, what value does it have and why should that value be allowed to be talked about?

I hate that I have to add 1+1 and connect the dots for people.
I expected this to be obvious to people like you, and I didn't want to have to ruin the article with excessive explanation and elaboration, stating the obvious. But it seems I must.

The are two things. First, it kind of shows he's a hypocrite.
Second, it leaves one to wonder whether this entire thing is just a stunt to try to prove to his politically correct supporters that he's not racist (the old blackface incident appearing in the press was a minor scandal for him) and score some points with them, to try to compensate for that past incident.

So because he was a racist in the past he needs to cover it up now? Or is it because he's a politician and needs to shore up his political base?

Translation: Truedope doesn't want anymore embarrassing photos of himself surfacing where it could bite him in the ass. Now that he's in a minority situation, he'll need to suckhole to other parties.....I'm sure the BQ will be more than willing.
