TWITTER FILES PART 8 - Dropping Now

    https://twitter.com/lhfang

    1. TWITTER FILES PART 8 *How Twitter Quietly Aided the Pentagon’s Covert Online PsyOp Campaign* Despite promises to shut down covert state-run propaganda networks, Twitter docs show that the social media giant directly assisted the U.S. military’s influence operations.

Once again, Twitter is dropping more files, this will be their 8th segment with many more to follow.

    Discuss!

    9. For example, Twitter lawyer Jim Baker mused in a July 2020 email, about an upcoming DoD meeting, that the Pentagon used "poor tradecraft" in setting up its network, and were seeking strategies for not exposing the accounts that are “linked to each other or to DoD or the USG.”

Jim Baker, again. How crooked is this guy?

From my short experience in the US Army, it is highly likely that DoD would organize "keyboard warriors" to fight the battle for manipulation of the public perception. I think we have our own little Pentagon Choir here at PF.

    18. The reality is much more murky. Twitter actively assisted CENTCOM’s network going back to 2017 and as late as 2020 knew these accounts were covert/designed to deceive to manipulate the discourse, a violation of Twitter’s policies & promises. They waited years to suspend.

I would guess: CIA would handle that and so would the NSA. They love these sort of operations.

TWITTER AIDED THE PENTAGON IN ITS COVERT ONLINE PROPAGANDA CAMPAIGN
Internal documents show Twitter whitelisted CENTCOM accounts that were then used to run its online influence campaign abroad.

Interesting stuff in this well written article:
"One engineer, who asked not to be named because he was not authorized to speak to the media, said that he had never seen this type of tag before, but upon close inspection, said that the effect of the “whitelist” tag essentially gave the accounts the privileges of Twitter verification without a visible blue check. Twitter verification would have bestowed a number of advantages, such as invulnerability to algorithmic bots that flag accounts for spam or abuse, as well as other strikes that lead to decreased visibility or suspension."

NEW: @ElonMusk @Twitter files show that the Deep State Pentagon happily engaged in bot operations to influence foreign countries. At the same time, this same Deep State (and @Tiwtter) were using alleged foreign bot operations as pretext to censor Americans and smear Trump. -T. Fitton

    19. Twitter’s comms team was closely in touch with reporters, working to minimize Twitter’s role. When the WashPost reported on the scandal, Twitter officials congratulated each other because the story didn’t mention any Twitter employees & focused largely on the Pentagon.

I am here to be on topic and not spread fake news.

Back on topic after that short interlude:

The researchers connected these accounts with a vast online ecosystem that included “fake news” websites, meme accounts on Telegram and Facebook, and online personalities that echoed Pentagon messages often without disclosure of affiliation with the U.S. military. Some of the accounts accuse Iran of “threatening Iraq’s water security and flooding the country with crystal meth,” while others promoted allegations that Iran was harvesting the organs of Afghan refugees.

The Stanford report did not definitively tie the sham accounts to CENTCOM or provide a complete list of Twitter accounts. But the emails obtained by The Intercept show that the creation of at least one of these accounts was directly affiliated with the Pentagon.

Again, Facebook and other big tech media is mentioned. Imagine the files Facebook has the election interfence by The FBI.

BREAKING: Actor James Woods is SUING the Democrat Party after Elon Musk's document dump shows DNC colluding with Big Tech to CENSOR his speech.

Interesting but I doubt he gets anything out of this. Clearly making a point though.

"Twitter files reveal that the #DNC has been ordering Twitter to delete tweets including James Woods. He’s now committed to suing the #DNC and every American who understands how the #DNC is violating our rights should stand with @RealJamesWoods" -B. Sexton

Just checked my Twitter account again just now.

Confirmed what anyone with two working brain cells already know. Nobody gives a **** about this nothingburger. It's not even in the top 30 trending subjects being discussed on Elons own platform. LOL
