How far would the military industrial congressional complex be able to drive
public opinion to war if the leaders and media did not drive the public to hate?

Right now many of the US public blame Russia for things we have done ourselves
and for things, it is alleged the Russian Federation did in past, ignoring our own
past and not forgiving others as we are forgiven ourselves.

Only two decades ago we raged about the 'radical Muslims' and about
9/11 which we deliberately did not investigate. We had our regular hate
sessions as news revealed other things others had done, like some babies
pulled out of incubators in Kuwait.

George Orwell predicted a future where there was a daily two minutes
of hate for whoever was labelled as the enemy of the moment.

The enemy kept changing but the hate was always kept alive.

Pres. Putin has repeatedly thanked the US for being essential for allowing
the USSR to defeat Nazi Germany in WW2.

This contrasts with the attitude of the US which is to forget being best
friends with Russia and the USSR in WW2, and my guess is the reason
is the Military Industrial Complex makes money by having enemies of
the US so they can sell weapons to the US government against the
    alleged threat.

The 'Cold War' which existed in minds more than in reality, made the
    MIC a fortune.

Putin has stated that he is not happy with the US govt stirring up the public
to hate Russia. That is in addition to stirring up hate against China,
Iran, N. Korea, and many other nations.

That is far more nations than the Military Industrial Complex needs
to sell weapons against and more than the US should continue to oppose.
