The CIA facilitated the coup in Ukraine with the same strategy it used in Venezuela 2002. Oleksandr Yakymenko, the former head of the Security Service of Ukraine, claimed that his "counter-intelligence forces were monitoring the CIA in Ukraine during the protests… [T]he CIA was active on the ground in Kiev and collaborating with a small circle of opposition figures" (Flashpoint in Ukraine, p. 93). He also said that "it was not the police or government forces that fired on protesters, but snipers from the Philharmonic Building [Music Conservatory Building?] that was controlled by opposition leader Andriy Parubiy," who was "interacting with the CIA." He said that "twenty men wearing ‘special combat clothes’ and carrying ‘sniper rifle cases, as well as AKMs with scopes’ ran out of the opposition-controlled Philharmonic Building [Music Conservatory Building?] and split into two groups of ten people, with one taking position at the Ukraine hotel" (Nazemroaya, Flashpoint in Ukraine, pp. 93-94).

And according to a leaked telephone conversation on Feb. 26 between Estonian Foreign Minister Urmas Paet and European Union Commissionaire Catherine Ashton, which was leaked by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), Paet tells Ashton the following:

All of which rings true. That is how the agency operates. And then, of course, there's the leaked tape of Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland telling US Ambassador to Ukraine Geoffrey Pyatt that "Yats is the guy" who will head the new coup regime:

And as always, with U.S. sponsored coups comes "the fifth freedom": the freedom to rob and exploit.

    --i.e. another U.S. dependency.
