    Hopefully this moves forward, we need to have some pressure on OPEC+ and this type of legislation has been in the works for over 20+ years. Lots of pressure against this, with the current administration worried about unintended consequences already and I am sure there is major lobbying against this legislation.

    If it fails, at least this type of measure is gaining steam. This is the farthest it has got yet, maybe within in the next decade our leadership can figure out something that works.

    Renewables are a national security issue. Every barrel of oil that isn't needed for gasoline or diesel is a barrel that we don't have to import, and OPEC can choke on.

    I think we should double our nuclear power plant count as soon as possible. I remember reading that New York’s building construction zoning now demands electricity-based heating. I hope this catches on everywhere and we significantly increase our nuclear energy output + renewables.
