Big weekend for fight fans! UFC 139 is on tonight, headlined by Dan Henderson and Mauricio "Shogun" Rua.

Henderson vs Rua - As much as might gut is telling me to pick Rua, I'm going with Henderson. With vicious power in his right hand and Olympic level wrestling, I'll say Henderson with a 2nd round KO.

Urijah Faber vs Brian Bowles - Faber via decision.

Wanderlei Silva vs Cung Le - hard fight to pick. I'll say Le via 2nd round TKO.

Rick Story vs Martin Kampmann - Story via superior wrestling, aggression and power. Story takes the decision.

Obviously if it was prime Wanderlei Silva I would pick him to win. But his chin is shot so I think Le wins this fight.

Im a huge fan of both Hendo and Shogun, going back to the PRIDE FC days. This fight is a toss up IMO. I think Shogun fights smart though, keeps his distance and avoids the right hand to win a hard fought decision. Shogun has never been knocked out in his career and I know that Hendo never has either.

    Faber via split decision.

I don't think you understand the term "mixed martial arts". He has a good Sanshou game, that's about it. Put him in the cage against any top 10 MW with a freestyle/Greco wrestling or BJJ background and he'll get smashed. He's based his entire MMA career on fighting has beens and cans.

Big fan of both guys too - both classy and good represenatives of the sport.

I hope Silva calls it quits after this fight, win or lose. He's taken some brutal KO loses in recent years. No matter what, I'll always remember him as one of the most feared men on the planet during his reign in Pride. Some of those fights were MMA classics.

Yeah I agree. Seeing him, Fedor and even Nog to a certain extent losing more often is kinda sad. They were all in some wars over the years though. It catches up to you.

If it were held in Las Vegas, I would fly out and put $50 K on Jones to defeat Machida. I don't see him losing for the next 2 years. I suspect Jones will jump up to 220 pounds and fight at heavyweight when he turns 26 or so. Even in the heavyweight division I don't see any real competition for Jones if he stays healthy.

Best strategic fight will be in UFC 141, Donald Cerrone versus Nate Diaz at 155 pounds. Two lanky and tall white dudes with extremely similar fighting styles (good submissions, mediocre wrestling and good striking). Wouldn't even think about betting on this one that is in Las Vegas.

Very happy to see Wanderlei get the win. He busted Le's nose up badly

Shogun vs Hendo was one of the best MMA fights ive ever seen!!

What a fight! I thought Shogun was done in the 3rd after he took that huge right hand from Dan. To see him rally back after taking so much damage in the first 3 rounds was amazing.

Great win for Silva as well. Cung Le has some reconstructive surgery headed his way in the near future.
