UFC on Fox 1: Cain Velasquez vs. Junior dos Santos Dissection

    http://www.bloodyelbow.com/2011/11/...santos-dissection-preview-prediction-analysis

What better matchup could there possibly be? Beasts.

    The desensitization of American continues.....

Its funny how mainstream this sport has become so quickly....I remember having conversations regarding its illegality in many US states still. I imagine that number has shrunk since then.

I chuckle when I remember watching the original UFCs back in the day...seemed so much more barbaric then.

    Get the popcorn fellow fans.

It's a shame they are only showing the title fight...what kind of BS is that? Especially when Henderson/Guida is on this card.

On a side note, normally I would say Cain would walk through Dos Santos, but I have no idea how he's going to look after an injury and long layoff. I'll still pick Cain via TKO in round 4.

The favourite will lose and the mafia will gain.

I've put a bet on this fight and that was it. Cain by 4th round TKO.

Its does suck. I love watching the carpenter. Gotta start somewhere tho I guess.

So tough knowing that with guys this big and strong who throw, it could literally be over in a split second.

Did you catch the UFC freebie from England last week?

    Leben looked tired.

I think they're running this as kind of an "intro." There's going to be lots of fanfare and stuff. They do this, get one fight going, and give people a taste. Fox is treating this, from all the stuff I've seen, like they did the debut of the NFL on Fox. Which is great for the UFC. Remember how big a deal that was when little Fox "stole" the NFL broadcasts right out from NBC?

Don't forget, too, Manny Pacquiao is fighting tonight. The UFC on Fox has completely taken the buzz off of that, which is good in my opinion. Boxing stinks.

I don't think there's any better way to showcase the problems with boxing than to point out that MMA is going to put it's two top guys in the cage and settle the question. Boxing keeps dancing around Mayweather vs. Pacquiao while they both fight nobodies and repeats, and the UFC is saying "We're taking #1 and #2 and putting them in the cage right now."

By the way... Great intro video for the fight here:

Pleased to meet you, UFC on Fox.

I guess Leben said after the loss that he cut 21 pounds in 24 hours before the weigh ins. He's always making excuses after loses, but if true that would explain why he gassed out.

If Cain looks like he did before the injury Dos Santos is in trouble. Dos Santos has great boxing but I have a feeling he's going to be spending the majority of the fight on his back.

they picked a good time to invest in it, when the country is at war and the economy is bad.

it was like rome during its downfall the people needed bloodlust and entertainment from the collosseum gladiators

that said it looks to be a good fight two stand up fighters who are heavy hitters, hope its free on spike TV wont pay for it
