UK worst place to live in Europe for quality of life, says uSwitch.com

No surprise here, just have a look around in this sub-section. The downspiral the UK has gotten in -- in such a short time (!) -- is utterly mindblowing.

As I said on the other thread about this report (http://www.politicalforum.com/latest-world-news/209818-lifestyle-better-poland-than-britain.html); "Take the right set of statistics, set of ten European nations and method of adding it all up and you could present any image you like. This isn't science, it's marketing."

Given that most of the stuff written here about the UK is (like this) misleading trash, I can't blame you for having such a negative impression, however flawed it might be.

Yet unlike Germans Italians and SPanish the Brits have enough confidence to take a decent amount of kids, whereas it is rare to find a family of more then 1 kid in the 3 nation mentioned.

Seems to me the Brits have more hope for the future then the average EU nation.

Janpor, there is something wrong with your attitude towards Britain. Why are you so biased? It is quite obvious, that quality of life in , say, Romania or Bulgaria is much lower, than in Britain.
It is doubtful, that polls in this article is representative.

Romanians and Bulgarians do not need to have so many umbrellas which means their overall quality of life is better.

Here on the British south coast, we have had a week of unusually warm dry sunny weather. Indeed the local paper reports that we were warmer than Spain, Greece and Turkey this weekend! :-D

    Paris,...

    Your post was quite funny!

Although it needs to be said that some (à la KGB_Agent) really should remember Texpat's posts before calling me anti-British.

Get off it, you're never done posting anti-UK threads and you must know they are not academically accurate. I'm waiting for you to take it up to Current Events and start spamming anti-UK hate like a proper agenda poster (eh Dutch Clog ;p )

    God forgive ye.:omg::ignore:

Texpat also acted as an anti-European... Anyway I think this is another interesting subject, anti-britishness:)

To me the report in the OP seems biased but I know it's nothing new as in France many people still have loads of stereotypes about the Brits:mrgreen:

It does seem to me that many Brits think the same about us; I even contend that they have started the whole affair:gun::date: so I would not be surprised by anti-british sentiments existing in other parts of Europe...

    ...

Vivien, are you home alone and had to much wine or something?

Of course I know this thread isn't academically accurate -- I just have a bad character from time to time and I'm getting sick and tired of "lame and lamer" UK and the positions she takes in. Which is why I made this thread in the first place.

All of my other threads about UK are accurate -- all of them!

Also, quite interesting that small protests in Greece are making headlines whilst a 25,000 protest at the Conservative Party Conference isn't even mentioned in the press. How come?

There seems to be complete radio-silence over the UK's problems of e-p-i-c proportions.

I've been to Belium a lot buddy. While I like the people (both Flems and Waloons) the country is a kip of a place! It's like living in the 50's. Dirty dirty dirty. The roads are a disgrace, corruption is everywhere in business. BXL? Horrible city.

Actually, you can't stand the fact that a more significant EU member than Belgium is sceptical about the EU. So instead of debating the UK's policies towards the EU, you decide to repetitively slam the UK.

It's as transparant as it is sad.

No, I have nothing against being sceptical -- I do have something against a lame-ass country that is in a downspiral being a total obstructionist.

I don't see why making threads about the *factual* impoverishment of the UK is labeled "slamming".

And there you go again. How can you actually defend yourself, then do it all over again.

As for the UK being "lame-ass" - well, we're not the current world record holding country for not havingt a government. It's still increasing isn't it! You still after all this time haven't managed to compromise and agree on a government.

Becuzase as many people on this thread have pointed out, the majority of your threads are "blah blah blah - UK". You've been likend to Texpat - this alone should prompt some inward reflection, but it won't.

Seriously, I think you've a chip on your shoulder about the UK, leave it alone.
