Hi everybody, I study public administration in the University of Ghent (Belgium). In a class I follow we got the task to analyze an administration reform that happened in the last 5 years in the USA. I chose to analyze the education reform. I have read quite a lot about it but it's not clear to me why they replaced the ESEA (Education and Secondary Education Act) with the NCLB (No Child Left Behind Act). Can anyone help me understand the reason(s) for this change? Thanks in advance and sorry for my crappy english !
NCLB is just an extension of the ESEA. basically, the idea was to put in accountability in the system. http://www.ed.gov/esea
Thanks for your answer ! But what triggered the administration to put accountability in the system? Was there a certain event that made this (education reform) a popular subject for the elections?
