Unions suppress workers. Unions suppress all workers except their members. If not for the legal use of force, strikes would be nothing but mass resignations. Unions have served any good purpose they may once have had. Unions are no longer, if they were ever, a net benefit to our economy. Unions should have to recertify every time less then half of their membership voted for the last recertification, or every five years, which ever comes first.
I have never understood why those who raise the average would want to be averaged in with those who lower the average. The above graph well illustrates why. Again, like I wrote in my OP, unions suppress workers.
I disagree when it comes to private sector unions - Most American companies offer good benefits and salary to keep unions out. Those companies that desrve unions usually get them. I agree 100% when it comes to government unions that, more often than not, end up with such outlandish pay, benefits and retirement programs, they drive the community into bankruptsy.
