I'm not American. Putin's involvement in Europe has nothing to do with militant Islam. The failure of democratic countries to challenge militant Islam is, however, a valid point in your argumentation. It's this failure that gives Putin the needed pretext to interfere in European politics, but it's not the root cause for this interference. There are two main concerns every Russian leader needs to address: 1. The lack of natural barriers (like mountains) on Russia's borders - that's why they're trying so hard to surround themselves with friendly governments, at the expense of the populations of neighboring countries. 2. The lack of warm water ports (which explains why they hold on for dear life on their base on the Mediterranean in Syria). In Putin's dictatorial "Russia is me and mine" worldview (you might not agree with me here, but my experience with dictators goes beyond yours, so there) divided, undemocratic European countries will be easier to manipulate in Russia's best interests than a strong European Union. His interference in European politics has nothing whatsoever to do with the very real danger posed by militant Islam. He's not the world's savior, sorry.
Welcoming something while not participating is not enough. Heck even people in the countries of UK/France and largely against this actions. I'm glad that the people in west see what their leaders are doing.
Sure it is....some of those other countries in Nato who don't possess the capabilities these 3 have , still support the actions for the most part of Nato as a whole .
I see all the Israeli and Israel affiliated posters running around cheering this feeble attack, without knowing what they are even cheering. Never mind Trump actually didn't follow the course the Israelis and their representatives in the US government, in particular Bolton, were advocating, namely launching an extensive attack which would include bases and targets affiliated to Iran in Syria. In the meantime, Hezbollah's chief has made it clear that Israel's earlier attack on the T-4 base will not be seen as business as usual. That action by Israel, in reality, had more concrete significance than the joint US-British-French action, which was merely for show. The Israelis have been trying to justify their attack by now claiming that the (alleged) Iranian drone that was shot down over Israel was not on a reconnaissance mission (as initially reported) but was armed with explosive to attack a target in Israel.
If I need to explain it to you - and I obviously do - you won't understand what I'm saying, so I won't waste my time.
When are you migrating to Syria ? Seeing as youll be so "safe". You wont be lonely, Cerberus will be nearby sunbaking in his home country on the beaches of the Black Sea...
I don't think I can take much more of this juvenile **** - I keep thinking I've somehow got on to some kind of internet chat room for 10-year olds.
Gosh, aren't we self obsessed. Have I ever been shy about going at you directly? Have I ever needed to be oblique about expressing my disdain for your high school level intellect and your desperate need to side with people who hate your nation? No, I haven't. You probably haven't noticed, but this board is positively infested with Russian trolls. As it happens, I didn't have you in mind, but the fact you have responded suggests that you know what you are. If I want to have a go at you it won't be in an oblique reference directed at another Russian troll. As for 'international terrorism' on Australian streets, the number of innocent lives that has claimed in the past 100 years is in single figures. Putin's little helpers killed 38 Australian citizens & residents when they shot down MH17 over Ukraine. As far as I'm concerned anyone who defends that regime is no different to people who defend ISIS, except that ISIS hasn't killed three dozen people from my country. All are low life filth.
If this is all, given that only 3 people have been injured and it appears to be a lot less than the initial suggestions, which is being put down to Mattis, the BBC are thinking that although Russia is expressing anger, they will probably be relieved it was not more and let it go.
Oh please...don't flatter yourself, I said earlier I wasn't a genius like you claimed I was...but thanks for the compliment.
Well you would say that, wouldn't you! Just go away, I'm not interested in your schoolboy taunts and 7th Grade rhetoric.
I don't care that you spend your life writing this kind of crap, but this is just to let you know that I won't be reading any more of it, and goody, PARTIZAN1 and the other wackos who want to be vapourised take note - same for you as well.
This was just for show. The attack had no military or geopolitical significance. Even its propaganda value is diminished by the fact that many of the missiles failed to hit their intended targets and were shot down. Not only was the casualty count thankfully low (3 injured), but I am not sure any serious target or installation was affected. The initial reports I have read suggest the only airfield that was targeted, in fact, was left unscathed as none of the missiles targeting that airfield (which was prepared for the attack) made it passed Syria's air defenses.
So it was all gesture politicking then? All those millions of tax dollars, pounds, and euros wasted for no other purpose than to sate the vanities and megalomania of 3 intellectually challenged western bureaucrats. And they're going to keep doing it? Does anyone seriously believe that Putin will just sit back quietly and let them?? Fat chance!
BBC just mentioning that we have not been speaking about Israel and then the guy interviewed mentioning what Iranian Monitor says in post 130 and saying 'so there is all that dangerous stuff going on there so we had to do something'.
So these really high security bases and manufacturing sites suffered no losses? In what world are secret manufacturing sites not guarded? It was a pathetic attempt to demonstrate strength and backfired. I see Israel are now saying that Iran tried to attack them - seems like they are unhappy on the feeble bombing carried out by the US. Trump is all talk and no action. All the rhetoric during the last week was for distraction
If I got this right, Russia is now saying it will be providing Syria and other countries the S300 defence system.
Syria doesn’t know how to operate Russian defence systems without Russian technical support. The Russians left to get out-of-the-way of the Tomohawks so now those systems are just expensive displays.
