This is a serious question. Why have some conservatives begun turning their back on the U S military after being strong supporters for so long? Some conservatives have begun to call the military "woke" and are dragging them into the culture wars. The Retiring chief of staff has been called a 'traitor" and calls have been made for him to hang. Two Senators have been holding up promotions and pay raises for officers for months now. This morning I read that the House has a bill that would cut the Secretary of Defenses salary to $1. The former President has referred to those who gave their lives for this country as "losers." Can someone explain why conservatives seem to be turning away from something they have supported for so long?
When you say “conservatives”, you’re painting with a broad brush. Most Americans, Republican and Democrat, respect the young people who serve our country very much. But generals should never lie to the public, as I believe they did in the lead up to the disastrous, chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan. They should resign before they will follow orders from the White House to make statements that they know are not true. Unfortunately, I do believe that we have a crew of generals right now who lack the integrity to do that, and they are fair game for criticism. It is also fair to critically discuss certain woke policies in the military. As examples, should women in the Combat Arms have the exact same physical standards as men, and should the military accept transgender soldiers who will need extensive medical services? These are fair discussions. God bless our troops.
None of this has anything to do with our military members. It is conditions which are being forced upon them.
Lloyd Austin should be tried and hung for what he's overseen at the Pentagon. Injecting our soldiers and sailors and airmen with toxic serum is conceivably no worse than the anthrax shots of 20 years ago, but it's probably worse. Insisting upon the Woke Agenda is just as bad. He is a traitor. It's a fair assumption that many of his underlings are too. After a trial, hang them all.
I think the fact that the American people were lied to about Afghanistan for twenty years might have something to do with it. Every year the generals would go to capital hill and tell whatever relevant committee that things were getting better and better in Afghanistan...oh we had a long way to go but things were looking bet-...until we pulled out and the whole thing collapsed within days. As I noted about two years ago: This isn't about the troops by the way. It's about the total lack of accountability among our military leadership.
