....so why either expect so much from him, or be so critical of him, when, seriously, that is ALL the modern US President is, these days - a figurehead. He is merely the man who does the bidding, not of the people, but of the corporations and various influential lobby groups, that fund his party. Do you think that a President really sits there at night, thinking of new and innovative ideas to improve the lot of the people that voted for him? Ha ha! He gets orders from above, and those orders come from groups and men that are not part of the election process, so really, in actual fact, what you vote for, and what you get are two things which conflict in a true democracy. And whether you 'prefer' Obama over Bush, or Bush over Obama, is of minor importance. What is of major importance is that you understand that NEITHER are/were anything more than figureheads, a focal point for the masses if you will, and neither hold any real power. The real power is held by the rich elites, and those not part of the democratic process, as illustrated. They may not be a part of it, but they sure as hell see the benefits in buying off both parties, so that they can own the democractic process. When you criticised Dubya, what you should really have been doing is focusing your criticism on the rich elites who really made the decisions. And if you are critical of Obama, remember, he is only a mouthpiece, he will not say anything the rich elites do not wish him to, and will say that which they want him to. By the way, it totally suits those same rich elites, the one's who care not for the ethos of democracy, to have candidates that often appear very polarised in their manner, style, etc. By doing this, people will divide themselves, by either supporting one or the other. All you are doing is making the distraction methods of said elites easier for them to do. Are you happy being manipulated in that way?
