update June 2011... I now have a new rabbit inspector. A few weeks ago, a lady I didn’t recognize rang my doorbell, so I didn’t answer. An hour later, I took my dog outside for a walk, and the same lady whipped into my driveway and announced she was my new inspector. I asked if my previous one had retired or moved on, and she gave me the “happy news” that the USDA budget had been increased, and they were able to hire additional inspectors.

Disaster Plan for Rabbit: In the case of natural disaster, I would want to insure that no large object falls on the rabbit. To prevent this, I would put the rabbit in a steel container , preferably with a lid.....like a large pot. Not knowing when I could return to the rabbit, I would need to insure it has plenty of food while in the steel container. I would put carrots, potatoes, and onions in the pot with the rabbit, along with some water for him to drink. I would also insure that the rabbit stays warm while in the pot, therefore I would build a small flame under the rabbit.
