    That's not exactly true. Well it may be true based on objective reasoning but I mean lets be real...Out of the billions of people on earth who identify themselves as religious only a very tiny percentage actually live their lives according to the tenants of their particular faith. By this standard I could count the number of actual religious people I've met in my life on one hand yet according to census there are over a billion people who consider themselves Muslim and over a billion who consider themselves Christian so go figure...

    You are missing the point which is the writer of the OP blamed the religion for her attack. This attack had nothing to do with religion. The writer added the word Muslim to the thread title dishonestly as an agenda

    More life proof that random internet hookups with strangers are dangerous and dumb regardless of what race or gender someone is. These types of incidents happen on a near weekly basis around the country the only reason this particular one is mainstream news is because of the reasoning behind it.

    All the more reason why folks need to knock it off with this new hookup culture thats running rampant in society at the moment and being praised as the new normal while thumbing the nose up at traditional monogamous relationships and actual marriage.

    agree, we are only guessing her religion at this point, probably a good guess, just like most criminals born in the US would be Christians, not always true, but good guess - only cause the majority are

    Sure but this is reaching. Based on the circumstances surrounding the incident and the ethnicity of the woman and her country of origin it's not exactly a stretch to assume she is of the Muslim faith, at least in her mind anyway. I mean world survey shows that 99% of Iranian's identify as Muslim so in this particular case it's not dishonest to conclude that she is likely in the 99% and not the 1%.

    You're still not getting the point. I'm not saying that she was not born Muslim but her religion had nothing to do with the attack. Does every report of a murderer include the murderer's religion in the title of the report. Perhaps you could explain why the writer of the OP added the word Muslim to the OP thread title even though that word was not included in the title in the link provided in the OP?

    I hear what you are saying I'm just not as critical about that sort of thing. Yes adding a label to someone could be interpreted as trying to direct attention to that label in favor of the individual but if the label is accurate I personally have little issue with it. That's more of a problem with how people read and interpret things which admittedly is a trait that media purposefully exploits fairly often. And people use that same tactic when describing things as well obviously. I'm just personally indifferent because I don't read stuff the same way most other folks do.
