Virginia will be a battle between Paul and Romney since Wewt and Scantorum didnt make it on the ballot.

Who do you think the Newt/Scantorum supporters will vote for and will the anti-Romney people back Paul?

I'm rooting for Ron Paul of course, but I don't think he'll win there. A victory over Ron Paul in Virginia still won't prove Romney has strength in the south. He needs Tennessee for that.

It's over. Just hand the nomination to Romney. The elections are rigged. Quick, to condemn Russia and other countries elections for being fraudulent!!

    Aahh..poor Paulbots..
They wanted a one on one with the Champ.
    They got it.

Tonight will show how Paul only gets delegates on the fringe..as an anti establishment politician.

    He has no mainstream support.

Now those who support Paul want a Santorum..newt Vote ? :disbelief:

Talk about wanting to make deals with the devil ..yet wont support Romney ?

    :puke::fart:

    Give me a break.

Hell, I'll even cheer former Obama supporters to come and cast a vote for Ron Paul.

Too bad that doesn't work the other way around..

    http://www.newsmax.com/Politics/republicans-ron-paul-/2012/03/06/id/431582

A significant number of Ron Paul’s supporters are likely to exit the battlefield when the GOP nominating fight ends and not return for the general election. An exit poll of Michigan primary voters last week, for example, found that 35 percent of the Texas congressman’s supporters will not vote for another Republican, The Washington Post reported.

Should Paul choose to run as an independent, Paul could greatly damage the eventual Republican nominee. A December Washington Post-ABC News poll showed he would siphon off votes and virtually guarantee an Obama victory, the Post reported.

    END..

I told my party chairman If Paul doesn't support the Republican Nominee for the 3 STRAIGHT TIME in a row I will work endlessly to get libertarians expelled from the Republican party.

This ANYBODY BUT OBAMA is a MYTH invented by the anti Romney people..
in order to get inside the main Republican TENT as if they really belonged.

There comes a TIME where you need to decide..STAY HOME..OBAMA WINS.
Vote or write in PAUL..Obama wins..
SANTORUM OR NEWT ? ..the anybody but ROMNEY TEAM. :disbelief: :disbelief:

I'm not sure if I'll vote or not.

On the one hand, since I don't want either of them, I'm inclined to stay home.
On the other hand, I would like to see Romney defeated here :chainsaw:

But dunno if its worth spending an half hour of my time to do that. In the end, I doubt it will matter. I'm willing to bet VA will have one of their LOWEST turn outs because of all this.

Dr. Righteous, I voted for Paul in the general election of 1988. Among those who announced, he's my favorite this year and has done better than anyone I've supported in contested primaries since 1992. I live in Rhode Island which votes late in the campaign and where nobody cares.

All the polls indicate Romney will trounce Paul in Virginia, so I presume most of the Gingrich and Santorum supporters are lining up behind Mittens the Ripper...

I think Ron Paul will end up with the majority.
Though I think Romney will somehow win, even if he loses.

Translation: Those with money and power see Paul as a threat.

Don't you kids worry though, just elect Obamer to another term and I'm sure he will finally force them to share all that money and power with ya!!

I tend to agree. What Paul needs to win is why he never will win which is to sell his soul and do "what it takes" to gain the support of the elite. In addition, adopting Chigaco type politic tacits would not hurt either, like people rising from the dead to vote and union members rigging election booths to vote for your man.

I would like to see Paul win at least one state. If nothing else, it might make someone like George Soros have a stroke.

Virginia is an open primary... democrats can vote as well as republicans and independents (there is no party registration).

Democrats, especially in northern Va. and around Richmond will likely vote for who they consider to be the weakest candidate... Ron Paul.

Not even 1 ad run in my region (Tidewater) by the ocean...nearly 1/3 of the state population lives here and not 1 ad for either guy unless they were very late night after I went to bed...no radio and no print ads but lots of Paulites dashing about breathing heavily.

Things were mighty quiet here in Central Virginia, as well.

Incidentally, where was all of the military support that Paul's followers like to brag about?

We heard here in MN that there was a democratic plan to stir up trouble..and with Paul's high numbers it looked like it worked..Paul got 3 delegates.

That is not a plan..it is a disaster.

Imagine if he was president. :wtf:

Ron Paul is the only true conservative. He wants less government, liberty, peace and sound money, things any true conservative can support. But instead the GOP wants neo-conservatives which desire bigger government, war, increased spending, fiat money and less liberty.

So, why is RP faring so poorly amongst conservatives if he is the "only true conservative"?

Or is it that Paul isn't a really a "true conservative" - perhaps, he's something else entirely (i.e., a Libertarian)?

The turnout in Virginia was exceedingly low, MnBillyBoy. I don't think Democrats had a significant impact on the outcome...

Because most self avowed "conservatives" are actually progressives.

Instead of debating the definition of conservatism, we could just say that those that currently proclaim the title of conservative seem to desire more government, war, increased spending, fiat money and less liberty. Also, we could say that based upon the recent popularity of Santorum, they are willing to trade any form of fiscal conservatism and capitalism for a perceived religious/moral connection.

I'm sure there are many conservatives who would claim that some of Paul's policies are consistent with those of contemporary "progressives", which puts him squarely at odds with many people who consider themselves "true conservatives".

I personally don't consider Paul a "true conservative" - I think he's more of a Libertarian, which explains why he has limited appeal on the Right...
