5% is almost certainly not the correct mortality rate for this virus. The current 7-day rolling average for the mortality of the virus in the USA is around 1.277%.

1 million out of 330million people. What is that 2% of the country?

    Three thirty in the morning
    Not a soul in sight
The city's lookin' like a ghost town
    On a moonless summer night
    Raindrops on the windshield
    There's a storm movin' in
    He's headin' back from somewhere
That he never should have been
    And the thunder rolls

What is the testing rate for C19 in Sweden.

You know the “math” is based on The number of cases not the number of known cases right?

Death Rate is not hard, although many on the left seem to have great issue with it...

    Deaths / Cases

If you have a inaccurate number for either factor your result is garbage.

And since you Lefties keep yelling about how infectious this is and how poorly we have done at testing it’s amazing you then try and sell a high death rate based on infection crap numbers.

Such BS that most folks would be ashamed to try a peddle it. Points for being bold!

Your post is not about the mortality rate of the virus?

Actually, the mortality rate is based on Deaths/Resolved Cases because if you still have the virus, then you can still die from the virus.

All you're doing is making the case for more testing...which is what we desperately need

As I said, the true rate of infection is roughly 7-8x higher than 1 million. That would be roughly 2-3% of the population, so I am actually agreeing with you in terms of the total rate of infection being around 2%.

But where you get it wrong is that you pretend that 2% is where the virus will stop.

No far from it. All those people who died, its tragic. But current population of the us about 330million. Its 1% of our population.

Yes. Without universal testing there are no valid judgements that can be made re figuring out the lethality; we even have some places attributing thousand of deaths to the virus that are highly suspect, as assorted medical facilities like nursing homes cover up for incompetence and neglect. We already know WHO has zero credibility, the CDC knows nothing certain, etc. The observation that as many as one fifth of the population has been exposed and had no symptoms or merely mild ones is probably close.

The true rate? Cool there is no way for anyone to know what number is really is So let me know when that is a sold number and not something that is being pulled out of thin air.

If you can not understand how cultural differences effect society I’m not willing to help you do so.

I’m my defense when there and in town I was fairly intoxicated. :)

The rest of the time I was in the field to help make sure N Korea would get a beat down if they got feisty.

The Korean people live under a constant and real threat 24/7, have for decades. They understand authority and comply to direction. While I get it because of the threat of the North, that’s not who we are here. Not should we be.

My post was a speculation re NYC. It's right there in the first line, so it was only about NYC's issues. It would take a little more more than 100,000 per 2,400,000 residents to top 5% mortality rates.

No I am not. I do. I do not feel the need for a test. If you want one weekly then feel free.

What we need (and are slowly getting) is leadership who veers away from fear based group think and leads. Makes the tough call of opening up the economy to save more lives than we will lose to C19 by doing so. It’s what leadership is for, making tough calls not the easy ones.

At this point with all the info we have (and that’s a lot) anybody who think the death rate does not start with a 0.x is a moron.

Testing isn’t for You. It has some benefit to you but it’s how we know what the virus is doing

And without proper testing the mortality rate numbers are meaningless

All you. Managed to say is that South Korea had the discipline to take this horror seriously. And as a result have been far more effective in dealing with it than we have
