I found these interesting and informative videos about the election process.

After I watched them, I pretty much decided it is pointless for me (and most everyone else) to vote.

    Primary elections explained:

    How the electoral College works:

Here is one about the "Alternative vote" and how that works:

    So how bout it PF?

Is this guy informed or full of it?

Indiana's 2011 redistricting was a model for stamping out gerrymandering.

But it's an old, old thing in the US. Elbridge Gerry was a framer of the Constitution.

U know in Peru Elections are soo much simpler....

1-Elections are decided by popular vote.
2 u dont need to REGISTER TO A PARTY in order to vote for a certain candidate..
3-On voting season, just go to ur designated booth with ur ID..vote and u get a special sticker attahed to ur ID.

Simple, fast, CHEAP and with nothing of that bureaucratic crap...although in Peru is MANDATORY to vote or else u get a fine...guess theres no perfect system..

You may be right. I haven't voted in a presidential election. At age 54 I may start just for fun. But Ca. is always Democrat so oh well. There are other ways to make a difference.

He does not understand a basic fundamental principle of our Federal Republic. The President and the Vice-President are elected by the states, not the people. Each state can each choose how they select their electors who will cast the votes of that state. There is not a national election, there are 50 individual elections on election day. You don't even have a right to vote for the Pres or VPres. If you state legislature decided to it could appoint the electors without and election. We came close to that happening in 2000 in Florida.

So his whole argument is specious, the electoral college works exactly as the founding fathers designed and you will not get it changed because the smaller states will never allow it.

And we are not Peru, we have many states that are larger than Peru. I have no problem voting for President or any other election. I don't have to register to a party in order to vote for a certain candidate. On election day I got to my polling place show my ID they find me on the list and I sign next to my name and then vote.

    No problems.

voting in the USA is just BS. It is there to make the simple masses think they have a say in who is president.

Fact is the ones who pay off (bribe) th electoral college will decide who is president. That's right. The electoral college appoints the president.

They all ready have one selected, and the masses will just think it is who they voted for.
