At the moment I am watching Narcos tv show on Netflix. According to the movie, Colombian cartels started to ship cocaine to USA in the 70's/80's. The major Colombian cartels were caught and jailed in the middle 90's and if you look at this graph that is when the crime hike ended. Were the Colombian cartels responsible for the crime hike in USA?
