Have you folks heard about this? http://washington.cbslocal.com/2012/01/13/occupy-dc-not-leaving-square-despite-rat-infestation/ Apparently it started (fittingly) with the "OCCUPY" people, who were not only creating an environment conducive to a rat infestation, but were actually *FEEDING* them. Thus creating several generations of sewer rats with no fear of humans. But wait, there's more... http://nation.foxnews.com/rat-infestation/2012/01/16/dc-law-forces-exterminators-relocate-rats Apparently some touchy-feely "animal rights" legislator has accidentally made it impossible for exterminators to kill rats! Apparently his "Wildlife Protection Act" has exterminators hamstrung. They can't use rat traps or glue pads, but must instead capture the rats humanely (preferably as an entire family), rehabilitate any injured ones, and *release them back into the wild!* How crazy is that? I think Washington has just solved our biggest problem (Washington itself) for us through their well-meaning but utterly foolish legislation of pipe-dreams. All we have to do now is stand back and wait for these idiots to drop from the Plague. Then we can get busy repairing all the damage they've caused.
rats don't get aggressive unless their cornered or forced to defend themselves many of the occupiers just feed them so they don't see humans as an enemy or something to fear if they really wanted them out all they have to do is caputure them in boxes and set them free in the forests but they don't pose a concern as of now since no sickness or diseases are being spread
Fox and CNS N"News" really enjoy lying! It is simple to just look at the act and read this from the act stating:

Featuring Cody Lundin. - YouTube[/ame] [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=urt87rK3_A0"]Part 1: kill and prepare cooking rats ( part 2,3,4,5 in the description) - YouTube[/ame] When the shtf and your in the PNW your welcome to Marbro's Rat and Rabbit BBQ
So one would think. Unfortunately, "commensal rodents" doesn't seem to apply to the rat infestation in progress. Check with the exterminators themselves. The law specifically defines "commensal rodents" as "House mouse (Mus musculus), the Norway rat (Rattus norvegicus), and the Roof rat (Rattus rattus)." Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on your point of view) the rice rat and deer mouse are the species involved in this outbreak, and they are *not* exempted from this law. Here's hoping the media is "lying" when they report high casualties inside the Beltway from bubonic plague.
Well, there's always the outside-the-box solution: put out bait, and have half a dozen or so guys nearby with .22 rifles. Put fairground loads in the rifles, and offer a prize for whomever shoots the most rats! (Full credit to John Ross for this idea.)
