You said polling is trending against her, so I assumed you had moved on from impeachment polling, since that's a done deal... All polling done before yesterday is now moot, since there is no longer a need for polling on impeachment... Now it's just on removal or not...
Oh that... well sure... that's what Chuck asked for on Monday... Get to it, Mitchy the Kid... Just don't expect the D's to settle for rules with no witnesses without a fight...
Not really, as long as both sides agree, per the rules of the Senate. The rules were written that the Senate essentially drops everything and convenes for the trial ASAP...
Obama's head of our CIA spied on his own oversight committee while being illegal to operate within the US. Plus the fact they spied on the body that is there to keep them from abuses The bastard kept his job and was not charged with anything for giving the middle finger to the people and our constitution . Obama's doj did nothing! Obsma's intel and doj were obviously corrupt and the buck stops at his desk. His corrupt holdovers tried to take trump down by 125 leaks in 126 days .Even as the loser dems were talking about impeachment as trump was being spied own via fisa consent based upon a dossier on trump financed by hillary . This caused VIPS to voice it appears a soft coup was in progress So if you cant beat trump by an election you take him down like any mafia would , by criminality . This makes impeachment appear to be sketchy and typical of a 3rd world banana republic. Imo most people who have paid attention since 2016 and have one operating brain cell find this dangerous circus as disgusting as I do.As an independent who detests both parties and as a person who did not vote for trump or hillary. I am also a supporter of Tulsi one of a few democrats who has integrity and would represent the working middle class and holds the intelligent position on both kinds of immigration where both legal and illegal is used along with globalism to rush wages for working people to the bottom.
Recall Rep. Hastings questioning yesterday I will stand to be corrected even though the clause does not say and/or. Judge Hastings was convicted by the U.S. Senate on 8 of the 17 articles and removed from office on October 20, 1989. The Senate did not vote to disqualify him from holding future office, and he was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1993. Not surprisingly, Hastings was one of the Congressmen who voted against impeaching President William Jefferson Clinton. https://constitutionallawreporter.com/2017/06/13/alcee-hastings-impeachment/
I see your point about amash and resigned wasnt the best term to use. Historically what happened in congress always happens in congress. None of that changed that this was extremely partisan though. With only "D" turning on their party and all "R" voting no.
And not that I think he won't go running to his new master with lowered tail, but Van Drew hasn't actually "switched" parties yet.... His vote was cast on the D side yesterday, which I think was a little ridiculous. I can certainly respect Peterson and Golden (and even Svetlana Gabbard) for staying with their party while dissenting in some way vs what Van Drew did yesterday. I don't know what it takes to make the official switch, but do it already.... don't leave us hanging, bro...
Did you see this reporting about what Van Drew said in private about Trump? I got 3:2 odds that says Van Drew gets trotted out for a publicity stunt and then immediately primaried by a "true" Trump supporter. https://www.thedailybeast.com/rep-j...-trump-before-he-considered-joining-his-party
And Congress is always just sitting around waiting for something to do with open calendars. What's Pelosi afraid of?
So she would prefer to leave him in office. BTW I saw a clip yesterday of Schumer saying how they were consulting with the Clinton White House during that impeachment
Actually seems to be the case under McConnell, but as I said, and the Senate rules indicate, when the House managers come a calling, everything else is dropped and the trial starts the next day (or sooner)... Upon such articles being presented to the Senate, the Senate shall, at 1 o'clock afternoon of the day (Sunday excepted) following such presentation, or sooner if ordered by the Senate, proceed to the consideration of such articles
If I had a dollar for every time I heard "progressives" projecting their own sins and shortcomings onto their opponents... Back in 2012 I won a Correspondent of the Day award from the Richmond Times-Dispatch for a letter I wrote concerning this particular phenomenon. I sent a copy of my award-winning screed to the guilty party, LW columnist and bullshit artist extraordinaire Leonard Pitts, Jr., but I don't think he saw the humor in my comparison between contemporary "progressives" and the Jacobins and tricoteuses in A Tale of Two Cities.
He doesn't... but it's disingenuous to say I'm switching parties, then vote as a Democrat, unless there is some sanity waiting period ( which is a fine idea in this case).... 2 others didn't and I'm fine with that..
