This team has ranked number 1 a lot of times. When the game stands tall, the movie, is about this schools teams. Several books are out on this school.

De la salle plays teams from coast to coast and includes the Hawaiian islands. It holds the national record of most wins in a row. Losing for this team is so seldom.

This includes a video so check it out.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The nation's No. 1 team got the defensive effort it wanted and then some. Unfortunately for Centennial (Corona, Calif.), De La Salle (Concord, Calif.) got the stops it needed.

Centennial, trying to win its first mythical national title, converted just two of seven fourth-down tries — failing twice by mere inches — as No. 8 De La Salle captured a 28-21 CIF Open Division championship, its seventh bowl title in 10 years.

By the way, as of Monday, 12/21/2015, Max preps ranks De La Salle as number 1 again.

    More

Antoine Custer rushed for 18 times for 117 yards and two scores, and Anthony Sweeney threw for a score and ran in the game-winning 26-yard touchdown with 9 minutes, 57 seconds remaining.

But it was the play of De La Salle's defense, led by the ferocious line play of Boss Tagaloa (10 tackles), Damon Wiley (eight) and Devin Asiasi, that proved decisive. J.J. Taylor rushed for 169 yards and quarterback Anthony Catalano accounted for 191 yards and three scores for Centennial, which came in averaging 535 yards and 56 points a game.

The Spartans, however, stopped the Huskies when it counted most. It lifted them to their sixth bowl title in seven years.

This was the fifth state bowl meeting between the national juggernauts and fourth De La Salle win. All have been highly competitive. This one might have been most intense. It definitely sparked the most intense celebration for the Spartans, partially because they considered themselves underdogs.

"That game was definitely a slugfest," De La Salle coach Justin Alumbaugh said. "Two teams kept dishing it out. They kept coming back and we kept coming back. They didn't give in but our boys didn't want to let this one go. It was a real gutsy effort. It was really gratifying as a coach to watch how hard they played and how physical they played."

For such a small school, De La Salle is nothing short of amazing. They may not be the best team every single year, but over almost any given span of years in the last 30, they are the best team by far. Bob Ladouceur built an incredible program.

high school football is pretty much what you have to go to if you want to get away with all the corruption in football.the NFL is corrupt beyond anything and college while not as rigged,is rigged as well.

Very few high schools want to play De La Salle since it consistently is super high quality football.

You can watch this movie to learn a lot more.

I watched the movie yesterday from a live feed site, When the Game stands tall, and got more facts.

Also, go to Maxpreps to look up De La Salle. Besides it's 151 win streak, it is consistently winning games. Any pro team winning a similar number would be a lock to bet they would win superbowls.

This season for example, only Trinity Euless of TX beat De La Salle. And it was the first game for both teams. As it was, De La Salle lost yet came very close to winning that game. Euless lost a couple games but De La Salle kept getting stronger and stronger until it defeated the then number one team in America. De La Salle was number 1 at the top of the season and by computer it regained the top spot. I enjoy the team since it is in a close by community and I have seen many games they played. When you watch the team play, they appear special. I never saw such discipline from any other team, not at college or in the pros. It is amazing to see them in person. Then they still follow the same procedure where they get a fat lead and then the second team is inserted. Bob believed all the team deserved to play. The movie shows when they Beat Long Beach Poly in their famous year of losing the streak. Poly was bigger per man by 50 pounds. Even faster in positions. Yet DLS beat them 21-7 and at the time Poly was called the best team in America. How can you come back from busting the streak to beat up a larger team by two touchdowns.

I live nearby as well. I attend a couple of the games each year in person.

I attended Hayward High and was a teammate of Jack Del Rio, the father of Jack Del Rio, the Raiders coach. Yet I root for DLS. I appreciate teams that are well coached and play hard.

To be fair De La Salle is a private school and they can have anyone they want come to their school. Because it's a private school they are not limited to just one district or area, and they can recruit the best players in the local areas or the state.

I give credit to the coaching Bob Ladoceur and his staff, they created a hell of a program. But the fact that they are not bound to district rules and are able to recruit without families having to move to their district is a reason they are so good and have top talent. Also the booster money they receive is off the charts.

It is no different than the private school in Florida, IMG Academy that recruits all over the country and its main focus is to prep the best of the best for college ball. In fact the whole school is built around sports preparation for most major sports from Baseball, Basketball, etc. etc. Kids from all over the country go there and living quarters are provided. Since they are a private school they are not bound to regional restrictions.

I take this into account when judging who I feel are the best teams in the country. Just saying, private schools have the edge in this particular situation.

You hit the nail right on the head.

We have had this problem in Minnesota with perennial super power Cretin-Derham Hall going all the way to Alaska to recruit a top notch baseball pitcher. Local teams have no chance against a team like that since they are generally restricted to neighborhood players. Yes, there is some recruiting going on such as suburban schools recruiting great inner city basketball players to strengthen their teams (the suburban schools get more money and have superior training facilities which are used as recruiting tools). But inner city schools understandably cannot persuade suburbanites to attend their schools for sports purposes. One example is Humboldt high in St Paul's West Side - for years the suburban schools recruited some of its best baseball players so that the team became weaker and weaker. This year the school will not even have a team because it does not have enough personnel to field a team! How unfair is that??

Scholastic sports should be fun for all and there should ALWAYS be a level playing field. The rich should not be allowed to get richer as it sets a bad example for all.

Most of the top annual powers in High School football and basketball are doing the same thing.

    So true.

We tell young people that education is the great equalizer. But clearly it is not as education shows inner city kids how many always tilts the balance in favor of the wealthy.
