Senator Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) and his fellow Senate Democrats recently sent a letter to Joe Biden demanding a quick path to legal status for the more than 10 million illegal aliens who have entered the United States since 2021.

Now that the dastardly democrats have the illegals here, they are setting the stage to collect their votes. I guess they think murders, rapists, drug dealers, and terrorists are worth the votes and to hell with what's good for the USA.

 

We already knew this. don't expect many comments from team blue in here. I see they are still pushing the propaganda that Illegals are not voting in national elections (YET). The key word being "yet". They always seem to leave that word out. Looks like this thread PROVES it 100%.

and a large percentage of illegals are here by way of the airlines ..they land in LA or Houston or Miami or NY

the letter sent by dick durbin is an attempt to begin legislation to repair the broken immigration system

it has NOTHING to do with voter registrations

the imigration system is broken

This news is 3 years old. It was a call to open a door to citizenship for those that are known as "dreamers, people who were brought into this country as children." It was not asking for a blank check. This issue has been around a long time, since before the Trump administration and nothing has happened yet.

If we do not have secure borders government has failed its first and most important duty. Not much else matters once our security fails.

The answer is to require these folks to go back where they came from and get in line.

If that offends someones sensibilities they need to rethink their position as an American.

Not really true. In reality, democrats see them as people just trying to make a better life, just like all of Americas ancestors who aren't Native American. And unlike republicans, democrats don't mind, and may like, America becoming more diverse. In reality, immigrants, even illegal immigrants, commit fewer crimes than native-born Americans. They are just people, mostly desperate working people, trying to make a better life. People on the right are concerned they will change the country. I guess that's just how they feel, but conservatives always lose in the end because things keep changing - mostly for the better.

So first most of those looking for the jobs "we won't do" are not looking for citizenship. They want the jobs so they can send the money home. They do not want to become Americans.

Second, what's the problem with only letting "wealthy people" immigrate?
Did you know almost every country has minimum requirements for money for people wanting to immigrate? I happen to know that both New Zealand and Australia as an example require a couple to have roughly $500,000 in liquid assets.

Third there is a process for immigration. That it doesn't meet your expectations for speed doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

The border is open when someone can literally walk into the country and even if stopped by border patrol are not arrested or deported but simply given a pass to enter after the most rudimentary screen.
